Even though looking at it in hindsight it's a compilation, the Japanese Meet The Beatles is very impressive. What a great album it must have been for a Japanese kid to listen to in 1964.

1. I Want To Hold Your Hand
2. She Loves You
3. From Me To You
4. Twist And Shout
5. Love Me Do
6. Baby It's You
7. Don't Bother Me
8. Please Please Me
9. I Saw Her Standing There
10. P.S. I Love You
11. Little Child
12. All My Loving
13. Hold Me Tight
14. Please Mister Postman

Does borrowing from the library count?

'Wonderwall Music' by George Harrison (my favourite Beatles solo record along with 'McCartney') as I've only got it on LP and my record player does work at the moment.
I need to return to that particular library in three weeks time, on the exact date that the loan runs out, so I'll inevitably get it out again.

It could end up being the most expensive CD ever as I already recognise dates on the label where I've taken it out before!

I quite like Wonderwall. While the pieces are too varied to be able to say I like them all, partypeople a few of the tracks find their way onto playlists of mine. I think it's an underrated effort by George. It certainly doesn't deserve to be bracketed with Electronic Sounds, Two Virgins etc as a throwaway experimental album.

I don't really buy box sets so I'll probably just make do for the time being.

I can imagine why 'Wonderwall Music' would have been baffling in 1968 but, in the context of AMM, Captain Beefheart, Ornette Coleman, Indian music and wacky 60s soundtracks, it actually makes perfect sense! Most of it is pretty mellow.

Along with the film, it's a real, yet virtually unknown, gem.
Similarly, although the soundtrack to 'More' is quite well known, has anyone ever seen the film? It's brilliant!

I think it did make a big impression between its release in April and The Beatles visit to Hong Kong in June!

I can't even describe how good Revolver and The White Album sound.  I mean, the mono CDs are great, but these records are better than what I expected.
