Yep. I had the privilege of seeing them live twice. Once on their debut tour at L.A.'s legendary The Roxy club (the pre-movie 'Rocky Horror Show' had just closed there the week prior - missed it by that much). They owned the town. Billboards up and down Sunset Blvd. Full orchestra in an intimate room. The original lineup with Laurel Massé. A few years later in San Francisco with the S.F. Symphony backing them up. Not too shabby a group. The great Cheryl Bentyne was with them that time. Sadly, the heartbeat of the group, Tim Hauser, passed on a few years ago. No group without him. Unless Yoko comes up with some crappy tape to strip down, that is.

That last one makes my skin crawl. I hate bats. I am always yelling at the kids in the summer, when they go in and out of the patio door during the early evening, to not let a bat in (i.e., by leaving the door open too long). They all think I'm being unreasonable, but I know for a fact I would freak out if one ever got inside.

Aww, another member of the Anti-Bat League! People are always telling me what an important role they play in the ecosystem. Well, they can go play it away from me. Far away!

Omigosh, me, too! I have heard several admonishing lectures on this subject every time I express my fear (actually, terror). I'm with you, though, Kelley—they can play that part (far) away from me.

I found a great way to get rid of a bat by accident! Be brave, close the door to the room it's in and open a window! Watch what happens!
