The similarities between this song and "Yesterday" are amazing. They're virtually identical. I'm surprised Nat King Cole's estate never tried to sue Paul for copyright infringement!

Beyond rhyming the words “yesterday” and “here to stay” in the opening verse, I’m not hearing a lot of similarities. The melody is totally different. The phrasing is a bit similar here and there but if you could sue for that songwriters would never be out of court.

Not a bit like Cagney.

I agree I dont hear any group of notes that are the same in both songs, which you do get in My Sweet Lord and He's So Fine.
Its a similarly melancholic song with a few samey words but no plagiarism as far as I can see.

It’s a beautiful song with strings but that’s where the similarity ends for me. Maybe the rhyme factor really influenced you, Loco. But anyway, it’s nice to take any opportunity to listen to Nat. I heard him a lot growing up and he’s one of my favorites.

I was influenced by an article I read. I've listened to it a few more times and ...
I guess I need to listen to it some more before I venture a further opinion.
"My Sweet Lord" and "He's so fine" are totally different songs to me. Oh well.

I can definitely hear the similarities on this one. Mind you, no worse than hundreds of other pop songs have done that don’t get sued. But that’s the business I suppose.
