Maybe it was Ringo's career (probably George's too) the most coherent one -tho some may say that it was the most monochromatic one- ... I can listen to the songs he sang with the guys and his solo songs without no shock ... there's a clear continuity ... may be not an improvement but that's not necessary when your aim it's to get some fun trying to make people feel better ... for a while ... I love his attitude ... and his Goodnight Vienna is more that than his Ringo album ... a short uptempo album full of infectious joy and healthy happiness ... the thing you can expect ... being an ex-guy!!! ... and the thing I've missed so much in others ...

Oh great, I knew there must have been a thread for favourite Ringo songs, I've been looking for one (grin) (hope you guys don't mind me bringing up a thread from two years ago :B)

I really like Ringo-songs, and I listen to them quite a bit :)
My Top 5 would be... (no order)
>Sunshine Life For Me (Sail Away Raymond) (one of my all-time favourites, gives me a very cheerful and adventure-type feeling (grin) )
>Weight of the World (wow, I love this song... love the lyrics/message, and beautifully done :) )
>Photograph
>It Don't Come Easy
>I'll Still Love You

But... if we were doing a Top Ten, then I'd also include:
>Beaucoups of Blues (I'm currently "obssessed" with this song (lol) I left Louisian... I had me big plans...)
>King of Broken Hearts
>Snookeroo
>Mindfield
>Vertical Man

And, notable mention goes to...
>Runaways
>Never Without You
>Wrack My Brain
>You're Sixteen
>Las Brisas
>Give Me Back The Beat
>Now That She's Gone Away
>After All These Years

OK, that's me done for now... (grin)

You should really check out Ringo's album "Ringo Rama" which is from 2003 I think, it's an awesome album. "Choose Love", "Vertical Man" and "Liverpool 8" are also pretty good
My Top 5 would be:

Photograph
Trippin' On My Own Tears
Never Without You
Oh My Lord
Fading In Fading Out
(in no particular order)

As for songs that weren't written by Ringo:
Six O' Clock (by Paul)
Goodnight Vienna (by John)
You're Sixteen
Only You (And You Alone)
Love Me Do (the version that appears on Vertical Man)

^ Oh yeah... why on Earth did I forget to mention Ringo's version of Only You? :o I love it! :) I had it in my head today, but had to restrain myself from singing it because Mum actually knows the original version and prefers it ;D

And I like Fading In, Fading Out as well :)

Not including his Beatles contributions, so solo only.....

Photograph.
You're 16.
It don't come easy.
Drowning in the sea of love.
I gave it all up.

If I was carrying on, my next 2 or 3 would be off Goodnight Vienna, I don't really rate Rotogravure at all.

I like the stuff on Goodnight Vienna, but I also really like a few Rotogravure songs (mostly I'll Still Love You and Las Brisas (grin) ).
In the weekend while spring-cleaning the house, I listened to all the 37 Ringo songs that I have on my ipod.... love those Ringo-songs (lol)
By the way, Ged -  weird question, but are you a Wizard of Earthsea fan by any chance? (just thinking about the name... :) )

Haha, oops, sorry Ged :B  just that you've got the same name as the main character in Wizard of Earthsea (I used to like that book), so thought I'd check.
Hope you're having fun 'round the forum (grin)

Excellent choices there Kagome.  I am not too keen on Down and Out, though... and I would have ranked them differently.

Let me welcome you... Welcome Kagome!  8)

Mine are:
1. Liverpool 8
2. No-No Song
3. Back Off Boogaloo
4. I Don't Come Easy
5. Photograph

:P
EDIT: I changed this because I just heard Liverpool 8, and I love it! And what's funny, is that I am reading a book, "Can't Buy Me Love", and I am just to the part where Ringo joins the band, so it was kinda weird... lol
