Macca wins local radio station call-in quiz
Last weekend on America's longest running Beatles show, Los Angles radio station 97.1 KLSX-FM's Breakfast w/ the Beatles hosted by Chris Carter, Sir Paul McCartney surprisingly phoned in to answer and win the morning's quiz question.

The question was, Who took the cover of Paul on his latest album Chaos & Creation in the Back yard. The answer was Paul's brother Mike who took the shot of his Beatle brother in their backyard in 1962.

Paul seemed happy to be the winner as the prize was Ringo's latest CD. "Just what I always wanted," said Paul.

Mr. McCartney then proceed to give an 18 minute exclusive interview discussing at length all things "Macca" including his current album and tour and singing to our Astronauts in space last week. He even a nice little Bob Dylan impersonation while talking about the Beatles "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away".

This was Paul's second time on Breakfast w/ the Beatles. His first time on the show was featured in his film Back in the US.

Paul stealing Ringo spot again. Just when 'Choose Love' is getting a little attention, Paul calls in and starts talking about himself. I have to agree with Wayne on that one.

It seems I was wrong. I've been searching for some clues but everywhere is reported as a 1962 photo. http://www.jpgr.co.uk/p3379612.html

It looks like this one.

The haircut of Paul is Elvis-esq and so I can't say the photo of the cover of Chaos And Creation In The Backyard is from the same era (december 1960).  :-/

"...Despite the "unspoken rivalry" between The Beatles and the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney were good friends during this time and remain so today. As a result of this friendship, McCartney made a guest appearance on Smiley Smile. He can be heard eating a carrot during "Vegetables." This led to an amusing story years later, as a Los Angeles radio station was giving away a bag of memorabilia signed by Paul McCartney to anyone who could answer the question "What Beach Boys' song does Paul McCartney appear on, eating a carrot?" Dozens called in with wrong answers, until finally McCartney himself called in and won the prize."

It seems that history repeats itself.
