Nobody seems to really care for Dig It and Maggie Mae, as they are rated quite low most of the time. Was it therefore a good idea to delete them from Let It Be Naked?

For me Let It Be is the Beatles album, warts and all. I see Naked as a pure Macca product. He could have changed every song for all I care. For me, Beatlewise, Naked isn't that relevant in the greater scheme of things.

True. But on the other hand it wasn't a bad idea to replace Maggie Mae and Dig It for the more obvious Don't Let Me Down. And looking at the results from this thread, most people don't give a sh*t for the two songs mentioned.

I thought Maggie May etc were included to give the album a live, spontaneous feel. Then they completely negate it with Long and Winding, Universe etc. I don't think Let it Be would be any poorer for loosing them

This album is the third on my ranking:
1. Guys For Sale
2. Abbey Road
3. Let It Be
... and I like Dig It and Maggie Mae (don't love'em but they work as jokes) because of the living thing that Kevin's said ... and they are funny too! ... but although it's a pity that Don't Let Me Down and All Things Must Pass were not on the original released album I don't missed them if I think about what the guys used to do with some of the best songs when they're recording an album: they realesed them as singles!
Of course that the album would be even better with them but the same thing could be said with some of the other albums (except Please Please Me, A Hard Day's Night, Yellow Submarine and Abbey Road) if we think about the singles and the Magical Mystery Tour album: I Want To Hold Your Hand/This Boy (covers on With The Guys), I Feel Fine/She's A Woman (covers on Guys For Sale), I'm Down/Yes It Is (the 2 covers on Help!), We Can Work It Out/Day Tripper (Rubber Soul), Papperback Writer/Rain (Revolver), Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane (Sgt. Pepper's), Hey Jude (The Guys)

P.S. Tho I like Dig It and Maggie Mae they are down on my ranking because of the really good quality of the others: standars and hits on this really very underrated by almost everyone masterpiece :-/
