Beggar's Banquet is pretty hard to beat but I've always thought that "Jigsaw Puzzle" with the grannies. etc., was a weak point.

Exile's still the best for me, because it's Keith in the driver's seat.  (Even more than usual.)  Sweet Virginia, Torn and Frayed, Tumbling Dice, Loving Cup, Shine a Light on Me--these songs have less of Mick's contrived "persona" and more authentic emotion than some of the other albums.

Exile is actually my favorite Stones album, but song by song it isnt the best, but its just like The White Album, Exile is still my favorite by the Stones, but song by song Let It Bleed would win, as you said Jigsaw Puzzle is pretty weak

"Monkey Man" just kicks so much ass. I love "You Got the Silver". I never need to hear "You Can't Always Get What You Want" ever again. Freebird.

I agree with you 100% about Monkey Man which is funky, raunchy & bad ass.

I think Brian Jones was great--tremendously underrated and responsible for alot of their esoteric sounds, from recorders on "Ruby Tuesday" to sitar on "Paint it Black."

Actually Paint It Black is the only Stones song that I like. But maybe I haven't heard enough of their songs. I dunno.
