I just listened to it. One of my students gave it to me. I wouldn't have gotten it otherwise, but i would have been dumb not too because it's GREAT!!! I really like it. I'm actually surprised, cuz I didn't think it would be as interesting. Sorry Paul.

I hope to get it for Christmas. I can't buy anything else for myself, not after I spent all that money on Joan Baez CDs.

Can anyone fail to like the Abbey Rd. Orchestral wonderment at the end of This Never Happened Before? All those harps and things....Just wonderful stuff.

Anyway reminds me Hey Jude each time I listen to it. Dunno why. They don't sound similar or have the same feeling,... I'm paranoid.

I hear ya. I hear ya. A low key, melancholy, rich, string-driven beautiful song. Love the chord change at "... for lovers." Love the Ram-ish guitar breaks. Love the backups right at the last section of the song and that buildup. Wow!

I dunno maybe it's just me, but I can hear Dionne Warwick singing this song.  ;D

You are. ;)

Not sure what the piano reminds me of on "Anyway" but it's deriviative, for sure. Still I love the "AHHHHHH" part and the general feel.

To me, the best McCartney out there are his mini suite songs: his work on "A Day in the Life" and "Abbey Rd.", Uncle Albert, Backseat Of My Car, Little Lamb Dragonfly, Band On the Run, etc. I have always wanted more of this but figured it wouldn't happen on this album. Now...."Promise to You Girl" delivers and in a big way. I love the idea of non linear sections in a song and things working because the artist says it does. Gotta love the piano and the Ram-ish solo.

Good moments in Ram LP and Band On The Run LP.
