Mono seems better in Beatles albums to me as its altogether!
I litsened to the mono mix of Pepper a few days back & realised how much
i love the punctuation in the songs with being in mono, it  makes the stereo
version sound a bit naked with sounds all over the place.
I hate that about the early Beatle albums. voices on one speaker &
instruments on the other. they were designed to be mono when they first came
out!

Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm sure you will), but I thought that only the first 4 CD's from the UK catalogue are released in mono? And once again I stand corrected, but wasn't Abbey Road only ever issued in stereo?

I'm pretty sure there's a monoversion of Sgt Pepper. Let's call Mr Mono to help us out here. Alan?!

Thanks to all of you. So I did a good job when I found all their UK albums in mono. I'm happy :) It makes the situation a little bit clearer - so I won't try to find the albums in stereo and I'll wait for the remasters.  Thank for helping me to sort the things out  :K)

You must be talking about vinyl, right? Only the first 4 albums on CD were in mono (though there maybe a mono Pepper - the jury's out!). And Let It Be, and Abbey Road have never been released in Mono.

You know what could be really awesome?

Re-releasing the Beatles albums as actual ALBUMS!  But!!  When you open up the beautiful duplication of, say "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," you have a regular sized CD inside!

As a kid in the 70's, the biggest thrill next to listening to the music was staring at the album cover, both front and back, and inside.  That magic could return, and the Beatles could ONCE AGAIN start an original trend.

Yeah, the albums would be oversized, but let's face it: the Beatles really are in a class by themselves.  They deserve their own space, away from the common CD cases.

That's a fantastic idea! I love it! I want my own huge Sgt. Pepper's! (I wanna see all those faces clearly!)

Excellent news. I wonder what the box sets will cost. About the same or a little less than the individual discs? Maybe a bit more for the mono box, given that you can't get the mixes (legally) anywhere else? Who knows. Best start saving, though.

I wonder if there's any mileage in reissues of the EP and single collection boxes that were released back in the day. They could do some nice legacy and remastering with those, as well as including different mixes from around the world.

I'm really pleased about this. It's about time Apple pulled their fingers out. Shame there's no unreleased material, but hey...

I'm really into collecting vinyl these days, but I'd guessing that would be too much to ask.
I'd like to hear the new mixes on vinyl re-issues as well...

How about this news, right? I haven't been here in a while but I knew you guys would be as excited as I am!

This is going to be an expensive September for me-- I already knew I had to buy the Rock Band game, and an X-box to play it on. And now I have to buy at least one, and possibly two, box sets... But you know I'll be right there. :)
