Been lucky enough to see Paul a few times over the years, but Ringo seems to avoid coming here on tour.

Little details about Ringo Starr's European summer tour are trickling in, not (as we'd all love and expect, frankly) throught the artist's own website or through major intarnational ticket agencies, but through local organizers in the respective countries. So far, this is what I've been able to piece together:

? Unknown venue, Russia (says Ringo in his video update)
4. July "July Sounds Good festival", Cavea in the Auditorium, Rome, Italy
? Unknown venue, Denmark (says Ringo in his video update)
7. July Unknown venue, Hamburg, Germany (says Ringo in his video update)
9. July "The Bospop festival", Weert, Holland
? Unknown venue, France (says Ringo in his video update)
? Unknown venue, Spain (says Ringo in his video update)

According to The Daily Express in England, "'Liverpool is on the schedule' an insider says".
The Kiev Gazette has heard talks about a concert in Kiev, Ukraine, nothing finalized yet, though.

The current All Starr Band for the summer season: Edgar Winter, Wally Palmar (The Romantics), Rick Derringer, Gary Wright, Richard Page (Mister Mister) and Greg Bissonnette (according to the Bospop festival site).

Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band will be playing the "Norwegian Wood" festival in Oslo on June 11th. Other artists at the festival will be The Eagles and Eric Clapton, among others.

Somewhat, it's about 50 km away. Too bad he's playing that terrible festival Bospop that costs 75 euros a day. And guess which other immortal music legends are higher on the bill than Ringo? Bush, Roxette and Anouk. roll:)

He's going to do a small venue concert in Randers, Denmark on 12 June. You can check it out at www.vaerket.dk (http://www.vaerket.dk), where you'll also be able to buy tickets starting on 1 March.

Did you get tickets? It should not have been too hard. I've checked the site out a couple of times and it seems like they've only just sold out within the last hour. And VIP-tickets are still available :) I'm still hoping he will do one more concert in Denmark... But in Copenhagen instead! Fingers crossed!

Ringo Starr plans homecoming gig to Liverpool, more UK shows on tour

Various sources are reporting that Ringo Starr's upcoming European tour will include six June dates in the UK, including a show in Liverpool.
The six shows: June 17, Hampton Court Palace Festival; June 18, Liverpool Empire; June 20, Birmingham Symphony Hall; June 22, Manchester Opera House; June 23, Glasgow Clyde Auditorijm and June 24, Bournemouth BIC. It will be his first show in Liverpool since remarks made about the city on a television show in 2008 caused a furor. In addition to the shows we've already mentioned in past reports, a UK ticket site is listing an unconfirmed show at Auditorium Parco della Musica - Auditorium Cavea in Rome on July 4.

I looked it up and apparently, Laar is the village near Weert where Bospop actually is held, so I suppose the 8 July date is a mistake?
