Just saw "Athlete" and "Snow Patrol"

I had the opportunity to see Athlete last evening and 4 lads who are 20 and change put on quite a show! No video back drops, no hot dancers, just pure musical talent! They played numerous songs off their first cd and finished up with their "Wires" song which was excellent! Snow Patrol put on an average show and could have easily opened for Athlete as oppose to the other way around!

Snow Patrol is kind of like Coldplay to these ears............not bad, and I think they'd have a good live show....

Snow Patrol's sound is about the furthest thing imaginable from the Coldplay sound, imo.  They're a GREAT studio band, some of their songs are quite difficult to replicate live.

"Athlete" is a British band that write songs of substance. They are "huge" in the "Uk" and were received well by the audience at the Kool -Haus last week! 2 other bands that played there last week were the Doves and Mercury Rev!!! They were definatley fans who came to the show because they sang along to most of their songs! Check them out on their website sometime!
