America
« on: December 11, 2011, 11:30:37 PM »

I was listening to a lot of their stuff yesterday (it brings back some good memories)

they were a great band in the 70's but I went off them when they changed their style after Dan left

He died this year aged 60, very sad, RIP Dan

For me too. I always think of my first boyfriend when I hear "Ventura Highway".  :)

Here's a beautiful song by an unknown supergroup, Beckley-Lamm-Wilson, featuring Gerry Beckley (America), Robert Lamm (Chicago) and Carl Wilson (The Beach Boys). Wilson died before their sole album was finished, but Beckley and Lamm completed it and released it in 2000.
Carl Wilson

(the video says it's by Carl Wilson, but it's really BLW)

AMERICA always reminded me of SEALS & CROFTS and vice versa, I don't know why. Here's one of SEALS & CROFTS best songs from the 1970's!

That was a great session!!

AMERICA sure knew how to put their hearts into their music didn't they? No wonder George Martin produced them.
