Why, pray tell, do you deign it upon yourself . . . Pompous pap . . .rat's ass . . . so f***ing what . . .armchair quarterbacks . . . .

Can't you make your point without verbally attacking me?

Admit it, you're just a bully.  If you don't like somebody's idea, you call them names.  Maybe it's because you don't have much of a point to make.  So you cover it in hostile rhetoric.

Your point=it's good if it makes Paul happy.  End of discussion.

The only problem is: Paul doesn't seem so happy with it (i.e., the rubbish comment.).

Well, I think I'm hardly a bully,

Most bullies don't.

Quote from: juniorsfarm

I just don't have much use for people that feel the need to derogate because of their personal tastes

What else do we have to "derogate" or make discriminations from besides "personal taste"?

Quote from: juniorsfarm

you seem to have the need to enlighten through criticism.

God forbid, anyone should dare to say anything enlightening on a message board

Quote from: juniorsfarm

Again, I don't care for quite a bit of Macca's output, some of it has been awful, but its out there and so what?   I think I have made a very valid point, and that is simply that I respect Paul, I can't hold his recent output to any particular standard because it would be unfair, but he has every right to do what he wants.

You're saying you "respect" Paul by not holding his artistic work to "any particular standard"?  Of course he has the right do what he wants.  That's the nub of your red herring argument.  No one denies him that.  You just don't want anyone to say anything critical of him, because he's a poor superannuated 63-year-old incapable of artistic rebirth.

Quote from: juniorsfarm

Second, I didn't call you any names, calling a post pompous would be an adjective, wouldn't it?

Your language has been obscene and threatening, your tone (up to now) malicious.  ("rats a**" "f**ing" etc.)

Quote from: juniorsfarm

You said he is going through a re-birth of sorts. Who are you to say what he thinks or what he's doing?. Maybe its just another album. Is this a rebirth? No. Its a 63 year old man taking stock, and sometimes a rose is just a rose.

Wow, with friends like this McCartney hardly needs enemies.  Can you see the irony of telling me "And who are you to say . . ."--when you turn arond a couple sentences later and make the same kind of "pompous" pronouncement that you accuse me of (only your's is negative regarding his new album, while mine is positive).

Quote from: juniorsfarm

Most artists, or people in general, when they hit the Autumn of their years, do some reflecting, its only natural, and his medium just happens to be music. Let the man create and let's be grateful we still have him around.

Let's keep the bar low enough for that 63-year-old to hobble over.

Quote from: juniorsfarm

You're crumbling.

You're the one who's crumbling, your post is a nest of contradictions, chest-thumping and inanity.

Quote from: juniorsfarm
If you're that thin-skinned then maybe its my posts you should block.

That's one thing I can agree with.  Consider it done.

Well folks, thank God that's over. Zero is as clueless as the day is long, but at least his name is appropos. And for the record, I don't thing Macca is above criticism. Far from it. Good Lord, the 'Liverpool Sound Collage' is just an audio train wreck. At least Zero provides a different take than usual--that of pseudo-intellectual snob. Talks alot, tries to use a few big words to impress, and expresses nothing except ignorance. Once again proving that I am the Weirdness Magnet.  Amen.
