What's your favorite phrase from a Beatles song. Any line, chorus or title, just something you think is really nice at the moment.
"Everybody seems to think I'm lazy.
I dont mind, I think they're crazy
Running everywhere at such a speed
Till they find there's no need.
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away, and after all I'm only sleeping"
This song always makes me think about that scene in Office Space where Peter first blows of work and he's just lying in bed while his boss calls him.
-
turn off your mind relax and float downstream...
-
The crowd of people turned away...
just the lilt and sadness in that masterful voicing...
-
But of all these friends and lovers there is no one compares with you.
You know I'd give you everything I've got for a little peace of mind.
-
The sun is up the sky is blue
It's beautiful and so are you
-
"And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make"
"Here's another clue for you all - the walrus was Paul"
"Yeah yeah yeah..." ;)
"Nothing's gonna change my world"
"you keep all your money in a big brown bag inside a zoo - what a thing to do"
"I need to laugh and when the sun is out I've got something I can laugh about"
and not from a song but a film:
"64 years are *don't know the number* minutes and one minute is a long time"
-
The intro to their first album... AWESOME!
"One, two, three, four..."
-
how bout the intro to Revolver. 1,2,3,4,1,2 ....BETTER
-
"Thought I'd been in love before, but in my heart, I wanted more."
"Always shouts out something obscene. Such a dirty old man."
"Sleep pretty darling do not cry and I will sing a lullaby."
"It's been a long cold lonely winter."
-
Little Darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Golden slumbers fill your eyes.
You'd say, you're putting me on
But its no joke, its doing me harm
You lnow i cant sleep, I cant stop my brain
You know its three week I'm going insane you know I give you everything I got for a little peace of mind
-
When i Find myself
in times of trouble
mother mary comes
to me speaking words of wisdom
LEt iT bE ;D
I Love this song
-
:)I love that song too. The words are beautiful.
And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree
There will be an answer
Let it be
I also love this one.
There's nothing you can do that can't be done
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It's easy
These two songs I can listen to forever.
-
'All you need is love'
'All the world is birthday cake,
So take a piece but not too much'
'I'd like to be under the sea' (funny quote, though)
'Twist and shout!'
'Life is very short, and there's no time,
for fussing and fighting my friend.'
'Will I wait a lonely lifetime
If you want me to--I will.'
-
And anytime you feel the pain, Hey Jude refrain
Dont carry the world upon your shoulders.
Well dont you know that its a fool
who plays it cool
by making their world a little colder (well na na na na, na na na na)
-
And if I ever saw you, I didnt catch your name
But it never really mattered, i will always feel the same
-
"THERE'S NOWHERE YOU CAN BE THAT ISN'T WHERE YOU MEANT TO BE"
-
I need to laugh, and when the sun is out, I've got something I can laugh about
-
Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people
Eat mashmallow pies
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers
There's such a delicious randomness in it - and "rocking horse people" has become a real word in my vocabulary.
Wigwam - frightened of the dark
How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people?
Come and keep your comrade warm
And in the middle of the celebrations I break down
-
"LIFE IS VERY SHORT AND THERE´S NO TIME FOR FUSSING OR FIGHTING MY FRIEND. I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT IT´S A CRIME, BUT NOW I ASK YOU ONCE AGAIN"
-WE CAN WORK IT OUT
i dont know any other song which is as thoughtful as this one
-
nice phrase celine, I used to have that in my signature ;D
-
i love in that song when he says "we can work it out and get thins straight or say goodnight"
and "you can get it wrong but still you think that its alright"
-
out of college, money spent, see no future pay no rent
all the money's gone nowhere to go.
One sweet dream came true, today.
-
No-one I think is in my tree...
-
nothins gonna change my world
-
"I read the news today oh boy..."
"try to realize it's all within yourself no one else can make you change"
"will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm 64"
"little darling, the smiles' returning to the faces"
-
"Black cloud crossed my mind, blue mist round my soul, feel so suicidal even hate my rock and roll"
-
"Mean Mr. Mustard sleeps in the park, shaves in the dark, tryin' to save paper."
-Not neccesarily the line, but how John sings it. especially his voice on the word "dark". Listen to it, it is awesome.
"All the children sing!"
-Again, Johns voice is amazing. Listen to the third time he says this line in "Bongalow Bill" and listen to his voice on the word "sing".
-
I can stay till it's time to go.
-
All the lyrics of 'Penny Lane'.
Nothing short of magical...
-
"For your sweet top lip, I'm in the queue. Baby I'm in love with you!"
-
'no-one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low'
-
Not sure if I have these quotes exactly, but here are mine:
"Everybody had a wet dream"
"So I quit the police department, and got myself a steady job"
"What they need's a damn good whacking"
"When you see beyond yourself you may find peace of mind is waiting there"
"Man you should have seeing them kicking Edgar Allen Poe"
"The walrus was Paul"
"You were in a car crash, and you lost your hair"
"And Mr H will demonstrate 10 summersaults he'll undertake on solid ground"
"The way things are going, they're gonna crucify me"

"Carve your number on my wall
And maybe you will get a call from me"
Years ago I thought it was "Call your number on my wall
And maybe you will get a call from me" and tried to make sense of it! :-\
-
"Nowhere man, don't worry, take your time, don't hurry; leave it all till somebody else lends you a hand"
"Love is all and love is everyone, it is knowing, it is knowing"
"We were talking, about the love that's gone so cold, and the people who gain the world and lose their soul"
"Love is old, love is new; love is all, love is you"
-
Years ago I thought it was "Call your number on my wall
And maybe you will get a call from me" and tried to make sense of it! :-\
Ditto 'til just now. My whole life is a lie.

We have to move on, man.

She's the kind of a girl that makes the "News of the World"
Yes you could say she was attractively built.
Yeah yeah yeah.
I thought is was "She's the kind of a girl that makes good use of the Pill".
-
- With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps.
- She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh.
I told her I didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath
- Always, no sometimes, think it's me But you know I know when it's a dream I think I know I mean a yes But it's all wrong That is I think I disagree
- Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers,
That grow so incredibly high.
-
semolina pilchards, climbing up the Eiffel tower..
-
And it really doesn't matter if I'm wrong
I'm right where I belong
I'm right where I belong
-
And it really doesn't matter if I'm wrong
I'm right where I belong
I'm right where I belong
Good one. Clever!

The Beatles - "Fixing A Hole" Mono (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvQBQAnHJ1Q#)
-
duh, the spacing and grammar made it confusing, now hearing it in my head it is so obvious, of course it wouldn't have been written that way, timing wise...
-
Neat double-meaning lyric there by Paul, huh?

In A Hard Days Night I hear george say Come Ed! a couple of times. Does anyone know what that means?
-
Spoken word....John -from and A hard days night "She looks more like him than I do"
in song....again John- from Hey bulldog....."You think you know me, but you haven't got a clue" I think there was more truth than song in that line.
