Congrats on making it to the big 09/09/09, Beatle peetles! Which remasters have you purchased at this point? Box set or single CD's? Stereo or mono?
;D
-
Mono box-set. I'm going to try to convince my sister and/or parents and/or grandparents to pick up Abbey Road, LIB and Yellow Sub for Christmas or something :)
-
i got both boxsets,
i've finished listening to the mono boxset and now i'm onto a hard days night in the stereo boxset now
-
Mono box-set.
OMG. *dies*
-
Rubber Soul and Revolver although Wally World had every single one of the remasters. I went with my two favorite albums although I was tempted to buy the White Album!

Wally World...LOL.
The White Album, you must buy it!!

The White Album, you must buy it!!
Only $20 which is good considering in the past it's been around $30.
-
I am buying them one at a time, started with A Hard Day's Night today. Will get them all, but as a university student my pockets are empty atm.
-
I've purchased the mono and stereo box sets for myself and a stereo box set for my sister. I know she'll be happy with her birthday present!
-
How is mono Help! comparing to stereo Help!. I'm dying to see how "I've just seen a face" compare to each other^^. Happy 909!!
-
I was to buy it in chronological order, starting with "Please, please me", but when I was in Musimundo (records store) I can't resist to buy my favourite: "The Beatles"
Now I'm gonna do a backup and after that, the CDs not will be used.
-
busy backing up, superb qaulity....(mono, not heard stereo)

You don't need YELLOW SUBMARINE LP, as you have all of the Beatles songs on your Mono Masters disc in your box. However, even once you get ABBEY ROAD and LIB, you'll still need Past Masters [Stereo] to have Ballad of John and Yoko, Old Brown Shoe and Let It Be (single version).
-
I don't own any yet! I'm broke! Boo.
-
WCBS FM has been playing the remastered albums all day long, Sondra. They sound pretty good!
Now you've got something to do with your next payroll check.
-

I'm waiting for my stereo box set to come in the mail, but I won't open it until my birthday (since it's technically a gift).

I'm scared I won't be able to last. My birthday is soon, luckily (September 25th). Hopefully I won't cave in before then!!

that is funny! I use to do that all the time during x-mas! I just could never wait. And me and my brother would guess what they were! lol It was always so much fun! But you always had to be sneaky! ;D

All of us Employees (at Capitol) Got a couple Beatles Crate kit last week if we wanted one. I got the Abbey Road & Sgt pepper one It came with a Tee shirt a Bumper Stickers A mini Poster and CD and a Badge
-
I have the mono box still in plastic. I bought all of the stereo albums individually (no box available at the store) except I need YS and LIB.
-
I got both box sets for an early anniversary gift.
Ditto. The anniversary was made up in my case. ;D

Question for you Bobber... did you open the mono box. I have it as well and have not opened it yet. Should I just go ahead and open it or keep it sealed? (I have the stereo as well and have listened to all of them.)
-
Dunno. I opened the box, but haven't opened the separate cd's yet. I'm working my way through the stereo's now. I think I will open the others eventually. If it was for the value, I wouldn't have bought them. I bought the mono's because I wanted to listen to them.
-
I was debated how to store them, and yet still have access to listening to them (both stereo and mono). I pulled all of the CDs out of their cases and put them in jewel cases. Now I do not have to get my grubby greasy hands on them. I am good at taking care of CDs, I have no kids and my wife will not touch them. So I thought this was a good way to take care of them.

so Far: Stereo wise:
With the Beatles
Rubber Soul
Revolver
Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Magical Mystery Tour
Abbey Road
.....the White Album is on its way in the post to me.. :)
I HAVE THE ENTIRE MONO BOXSET!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
White Album & Peppr sound AMAZING in mono!
-
None I'm not allowed to buy any my parents are getting me the stero boxset ;D
-
MY DAD JUST ORDERED ME THE REMASTERS BOX SET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Because I'm kind of on a tight budget right now I only ordered my two favorites: Abbey Road and Magical Mystery Tour. They should be in on Tuesday.
On a side note: I think it's rediculous that they're charging full price for these albums again. Haven't they made enough on these albums already in the past 47-39 years? I bet that 90% of all the people that buy these remasters have already bought all these albums at least once, it would've been a nice gesture to the loyal fans if they would've made these things midprice.
-
Joost, I wish they would have combined both the stereo and mono albums into ONE set at a reasonable price. That would have made me very happy.

Several classic albums from the 60s ("Odessey & Oracle", "Pet Sounds" and the self-titled Love album come to mind) have been re-issued with the stereo and mono mixes on one single disc. That's what they should have done.
I think this whole project is a total rip off.
-
^^ I have Pet Sounds in Mono and Stereo! It's great.
-
On the other hand, PR-wise it certainly has been a great move that people always had to pay full price for the Beatles' music. It kept their music classy and somewhat "exclusive". Being first and foremost a Beach Boys fan I've always been a bit "jealous" of the way the Beatles catalogue has been treated. The Beach Boys' music has been given away for free with newspapers. It's been released on too many crappy budget comps to count. Albums have been out of print for years or even decades. Most of their albums have never even been released on seperate CDs, only on mid-price 2-albums-on-1-CD-releases! I think the Beach Boys discography has devaluated a lot by the way that Capitol and the band has been treating it the last few decades. It's a complete mess. It's a good thing that The Beatles never allowed that to happen to their music.
-
I HAVE THE ENTIRE MONO BOXSET!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
White Album & Peppr sound AMAZING in mono!
My mono box set arrived today. I've only listened to Sgt Pepper so far. I'm pleased to say it sounds like my original (and cherished) mono vinyl edition. This is the way Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and Fixing A Hole should be heard. And the rest of the album for that matter.
I hope Apple decides to release the mono remasters individually in the future. If you've never heard the mono mix, buy Sgt Pepper first. You'll be in for a treat.....sounds amazing in mono, as Andy said.
-
In order of purchase:
-A Hard Day's Night
-Magical Mystery Tour
-Abbey Road
-Rubber Soul
-Let It Be
And I bought Sgt. Pepper & Help today :) .
-
My Beatles stereo box set arrived in the mail! Woo hoo!! It looks beautiful.
Now I just have to wait for my birthday.... :P
-

Do you think it's worth it?
-
I think it's a great way of displaying the re- masters and I bagged a numbered copy - only 7200 out of 25000 made.
-
I bought Sgt. Pepper's, Magical Mystery Tour, White Album and Abbey Road.
-
I unexpectedly got the mono set for my bday, but I'm trying to listen to most of the albums in order starting with the stereo set. This means I'll be listening to "Sgt. Pepper" and the White Album in mono towards the very end....this'll be interesting!
-
Woot Woot for Penny! *Jealous*
-
^happy listening Penny :)
I went to walmart today and saw a display for the remasters and I spent 10 minutes staring at them :) sadly I couldn't buy any :'(

-
For those who got the Stereo Box set. The DVD have got subtitles (Spanish)?
Yes, the DVD have got Spanish subtitles.
As to me, I've got both stereo and mono boxes and am very happy! :)
-
Thanks!
I got MMT now. "Baby, you're a rich man" is the best remaster for me
-
I have all of them now (stereo and mono).
-
I am delighted to say i have them all now!!! :D :D :D :D
-
I got Please, please me. I saw her standing there is amazing, Macca rocks with his bass. I got the feeling of heard them playing live. They sound like a really rock and roll band!
-
*clears throat* Stereo boxset! ;D
-
So I got the stereo box set for Christmas, and I just got done listening to all of "Please Please Me" with the volume cranked up and with my really expensive headphones and, WOW! I'm clearly not an audiophile, so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but the whole album really sounds amazing to me! I also love how the CDs are produced to look like the original records. I love clever things like that ;D
-
I bought the stereo box on the day of release; very impressive! And I've now just got the mono box; extremely impressive!! The reproduction covers and inner sleeves are wonderful, and the sound quality is astonishing! I've never heard PPM sounding so raw, and 'live' (the stereo spread spoils it for me) as on this mono set; even my original vinyl doesn't sound this good, and I have a quality turntable!
Pepper is magnificent (of course), and the mono White Album is fantastic (I've only ever heard the stereo - could never afford the mono vinyl!).
Steve.
-
In Stereo:
Magical Mystery Tour
Help!
Revolver
Sgt Pepper
-
Pepper, Rubber Soul, MMT (on CD)
The early five (from "Please" to "Help") + Let It Be (borrowed & ripped)
-
Last week I bought "Rubber Soul" and "Magical Mystery Tour". They are okay, but I'm not THAT impressed with the sound...
I've heard that the original stereo mixes of the albums are only included in the MONO BOX SET. It's a shame actually. I still think the whole thing is a big "rip-off". I would have liked the original stereo mixes on the stereo albums.
-
I own the 2009 remaster of Beatles For Sale. I am very impressed and will get the Stereo Box Set when I can scrape up the dead presidents.
-
None, I refuse!
I made a point of buying all original U.K. LPs (yes, they are all out there) and for what people have paid for the 2012 Stereo LP set, and now the 2014 Mono LP box set, you too can own a pretty decent box set of original U.K. LPs.
Thankfully I sold my 2012 stereo box set for more than I paid for it and kept the black box to put my Original LPs in. Only downfall is I don't have all the Singles from the Past Masters.
Hence my new mission is now buying the Original U.K. Parlophone/Apple singles (45s)
P.S. On a side note HMV in Canada is selling the 2014 LP mono box set for $299.00 (coming down in price)
