I just rediscovered this CD.
I had forgotten how wonderful this sounds. Anyone else have a copy? How do you think it sounds in comparison to the new remaster?

I guess nobody has this...
It is a flat transfer. It sounds so good, as I stated before. I am thinking the new remaster sounds better as a whole, but it sounds better in that it is not mastered as loud.
It is a pricey purchase, but if you ever get a chance to pick one up, I would highly recommend it. You will not be sorry.

I heard a lot of good stories about the Japanese stuff, but I have never been able to get my hands on it.

This was the first ever authorized Beatles CD worldwide, released in Japan (release date: May 21, 1983).
It was issued on the EMI/Odeon label by Toshiba-EMI Ltd. The catalog number is CP35-3016.
The CDs were issued with an obi (a paper strip surrounding the CD).
on the left hand side and had a black triangle design on the label side.
Legal problems caused the CD to be withdrawn from the market.
Booklet & packaging: Glossy cover, 20-page booklet (song titles on the first two pages followed by the lyrics in japanese and english)

I actually just got it (CD-R) from another collector. Will be listening to it in the next couple of days...
