He sounds like Paul McCartney did in the eighties. Was Paul copying his old pal in that decade?

Don't want to think about that mental image, pc31! Musically sounds SO much better. I always found solo John uncomfortable to listen to, it was so overdone with layers of effects. This sounds just... normal! Looking forward to hearing more.

John Lennon wasn't normal.  He wanted his vocals to sound like that.  He wanted his music to sound the way he released it.  Call it insecurity, genius or self-indulgence, but John wrote  his music and recorded it they way he thought it sould be heard.  Stripped Down is a travesty.  John Lennon was proud of and defended his work. He wouldn't have allowed this.
