We all know that the Beatles started off as a cover band. Their setlists included songs from their musical heroes of the 50's, early Motown, and old standards (often played uptempo).
With that in mind, what if Lennon-McCartney had not been prolific songwriters? What if the Beatles had included more cover tracks on their albums, drawing from the music of the 60's? What songs would you have liked the Beatles to cover?
My first choice: "Hold On, I'm Coming" by Sam and Dave, with Paul and John sharing lead vocals.
Other suggestions?
