It's overcast today and looks like it might rain. A miracle. Love days like this. It's only about 50 degrees out too. Another miracle. I'd like to live in a place that's mostly overcast but not rainy and damp. Wonder if that exists. Excessive sun and heat annoy me.

Crazy Arkansas weather:  Today's high was 77F..........we broke a record with that one.  Wearing shorts and flip-flops on January 3.............

^ Oh wow, you call them flip flops too!!! They are called jandles here, but we called them flip flops in South Africa.

Actually, we call "flip-flops".............."thongs"...........but people get them confused with the other "thongs"....

Lots of snow right now... It took me 80 minutes to get to work today, usually it's just 30 minutes.

Well I always find the New Zealand waters freezing no matter what time of the year it is. I have never swam in New Zealand, I think... !  :X But people like Octie, do swim from time to time, and when it's sunny the beaches are reasonably full (then again, we have tiny beaches) .

It is stable -10C. It is the best for winter, skiing and skating and sledging...

It's freezing! I think it's about -5 C now, but a bright sunny day. Off in an hour to go iceskating on the frozen lakes.

In the south, where Joost is living, it will be close to -20C tonight. I live more up north, it will 'only' be -10 or so tonight. These temperatures are rare, but we have them once in a while. Mostly during winters.  ;D  I went iceskating in the surroundings this afternoon. I'm not really used to it anymore, my legs hurt now!

There seems to be a certain change in climates across Europe, not sure if other parts of the world are affected as well. The weather in late autumn was very warm in Moscow (10C) and it gets warmer every year, while in Italy it even snowed at that time. Is it global warming or green-house effect?
I enjoy skiing but I don`t skate; well, I can a bit but not well enough to be eager to do it.
BTW, I am going to my parents` country house tomorrow to enjoy the winter in the countryside and ski. And to play billiards!!!
