Xosé, all I can tell you is that "Maggie Mae" was recorded on January 24, 1969, and the LP version of "Two Of Us" was recorded on January 31, 1969. However, the Anthology version of "Two Of Us" was certainly recorded the same day as "Maggie Mae".

You'll find more info here: http://www.columbia.edu/~brennan/beatles/var-1969.html

Excellent, Hombre_de_ningún_lugar... Thank you very much!! ;)

If I'm not wrong, the MM version released on the Let it be LP includes two acoustic guitars (=Lennon & McCartney), Ludwig drum kit (=Ringo) and the Telecaster Rosewood played by Harrison as a "bass", i.e., exactly the same as happens in TOU.

As these are the only songs that include those particular instruments, and as the TOU video is easily available because it was included on the Let it be film, I would love to know if there is as well any filming of the MM performance...

Best!! ;)

Here's the full audio version of Maggie Mae, including the first verse and the "Fancy Me Chances" ending ...
Beatles - Maggie May (Mae). Full Version.

According to the track listing of the Day By Day set, Maggie Mae was indeed recorded between two takes of Two Of Us.
http://www.bootlegzone.com/album.php?name=YDD046&section=1

It was also part of the same session where they recorded Teddy Boy which is on Anthology 3 (the anthology version is a composite of two versions recorded on 24th and 28th January.)

I have never seen any video of Maggie Mae from the Let It Be sessions.

Here's more info about what else they recorded that day ...

Excellent... Thank you very much,  peterbell1!! ;)

Looks like Harrison is not playing on the version of 'Teddy Boy' released on Anthology 3..., correct??

There were six versions of Teddy Boy and two of Maggie Mae performed on 24 January.

You can hear the electric guitar in the second part of the Anthology version of Teddy Boy but not on the first part.
The Beatles - Teddy Boy

The first part on Anthology just seems to be Paul and Ringo playing, with some John harmonies and comments in the background. Then in the 2nd half (from 1:18 on) the electric guitar is there and you can also hear John's acoustic when he carries the song on.
At the end I think John is showing his boredom with the song by doing the "Take your partners, dosey-doh" thing.

There is a different version of Teddy Boy here ...
Teddy Boy - Tow of us / The Beatles

... which has the "Take your partners" bit at the end but George is messing around over the top of it, and that bit was obviously mixed out on the Anthology version. It goes straight into Two Of Us.

The version of Maggie Mae I posted earlier doesn't seem to include any of the released version - I would assume the released version is the second try at it because on the first one they don't know the words properly and it goes straight into Fancy Me Chances, which isn't the ending on the LIB album. The Let It Be LP version is more "together".

Thanks again, peterbell1!! ;)

Yes. I believe you have solved it.

The last Youtube link you posted has McCartney's acoustic and an electric guitar for 'Teddy Boy'. I don't know if the electric guitar is Harrison's Telecaster or Lennon's Casino, though...

Best!! ;)

Sadly, I don't think there are any surviving video outtakes of The Beatles performing Maggie Mae or Teddy Boy.
There's a bootleg DVD set called Get Back/Winter of Discontent which contains scenes which aren't in the final LIB film, but those songs aren't listed in the contents ...

http://www.wingspan.ru/video/winter.html

Looks like there are a couple of unreleased video versions of Two Of Us on disc 2 - one which includes a bit of the song Bye Bye Love by the Everly Brothers.

"There You Are Eddie" was also performed that same day as Two Of Us/Maggie Mae/Teddy Boy, and it sounds like it has Paul on acoustic, George on electric, and John on a few acoustic parts here and there (no Ringo). It's a great little song!

Thank you very much again, peterbell1!! ;)

So, probably they spent the whole 24 January 1969 session with two acoustics, and Harrison on the Telecaster...

Of course, my main interest are those "bass" línes played by Harrison...

Best!! ;)

Is George's telecaster tuned down to allow him to play those "bass" lines on Two Of Us? I don't have my guitar handy so I can't check it out for myself!

No, it isn't. It's tuned on regular guitar tuning...

Best!! ;)
