Title: Sound question?
Post by: Dcazz on October 06, 2013, 04:47:39 PM
Somehow my sound has been turned off and I can't listen to the great music on You tube among others!
My speaker icon is fine. I checked it out on my control panel and everything seems OK with no muting! I do get my computer sounds and some sound from my homepage stuff but no music.
Is there a secret to this any of you might know about?
There is an x after the speaker icon on you tube but it won't go away when I click it!
Thanks,
Dave

Try it again Dave. I had the same problem but clicking on it fixed it. They must have done some kind of an update with a side effect of making it default to mute. I hate updates!

Thanks Kelley. You know what I found? On the Sleigh Bell video there is a sound slide control and when I tried on that one it corrected itself. Strange one video could control all of them but... everything's good now. Thanks Again!

You're welcome. Now that you mention it I think the slider was where I clicked too. It's just the ghost in the machine.  :)

But first you have to recite a line from Hamlet:

And, of course, there's this other famous Hamlet soliloquy...

You've got to hand it to that Laurence Harvey.  He really knows his job.

When I get to the bottom
I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and turn
and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again
Yeah, yeah, yeah

I'll stash them in my file if I don't lose that too!
It was a strange thing. I couldn't get sound on I'm Happy Just To Dance With You until I figured out the volum slide on Sleigh Bells! Go figure.

I just tried replicating what you did, Dave.  I opened two windows, one with the weather thread and I muted Sleigh Ride.  The other window was the best song on A Hard Days Night thread.  I did not click on the YouTube button to "watch on YouTube.com"  but just used the embedded players in the threads.  I'm Happy Just To Dance With You played fine.

I have a HP PC with Vista Ultimate.  I use IE8 for the internet.

On my laptop I've got 7. Maybe in the frustration of the moment I just thought it happened that way. I never used the slide bar before and never knew it was there. I always used my comp control for volume so my you tube watching always had sound from the beginning. It's figured out now so that's what is good!
Thanks
