The Farsher likes Led Zep and Lynard Skynard and all of the early 70's rock bit, he's 52 and the Musher, who's 50 likes Abba, The Carpenters and Perry Como. They can listen to the noisy scouse though. Infact, my parents are currently watching "Help!".

Oh well since I live in a Spanish speaking country my dad loved that corny "trio" music from Los Panchos, Mariachi music, etc..  My mom likes latin singers such as Luis Miguel, Jose; Luis Rodriguez and Julio Iglesias...

For them The Beatles, Elton John and others were just noise..... ;D

It gets worse. My stepmother (who was quite mad) had it in her head that because Ol' Jim was dead that his last few albums had in fact been recorded by Englebert Humpledink.
When a news article about The Exorcist was on TV she sent me to my room because she thought it was a movie about an abortion.

My mother loves Bee Gees (really love them), Carpenters, Elton John. We share musical tastes. But not with my father. He loves Rolling Stones and Creedence Clearwater Revival.  ::) I really hate him that way.  >:(

Okay. So who's James Last and why do people hate him? I only have one of his songs, an ABBA cover that I downloaded on a whim. Other than that I have no idea who he is.

my parents are both not into music... my dad listens to radio usually and has some old arabic or german records.
my mum doesn't listen to much music either, i bought her a johnny cash cd because she said she used to listen to him when she was younger, she was happy about it... but i don't think she listened to it more than one time. oh, and when we talk about the beatles she usually tells me the stones are better... but she doesn't listen to the stones at all o_O she doesn't even turn on the radio, no music ... no music at all.

how could your parents not be into music?  :o

He was a german who released party records in the seventies. His trick was to play sequed snippets of popular songs (he uses a big horn band) with the barely audible vocals reduced to girls singing off in the background (as if they're in a party.)
It was damn uncool in a decade when teenagers like me liked their rock stars as hairy and honest as God could make them.
Now I think he's regarded in the best postmodern fashion as a bit of a revolutionary, predating sampling and trackless dance albums.

My dad is into Fats Waller and some dixieland.  He had an eight-track of "Firehouse Five + Two" that I recorded over.  He got kinda mad about that, but got over it.  My mom was always into Hank Williams and Willie Nelson.  She also likes "When I'm 64" but thinks Bob Dylan looks like the devil.

My dad likes a lot of seventies/eighties stuff, America, Supertramp, Foreigner, the like.
A few years back I got him into Def Leppard and back into CSN/CSN&Y :]]

My mother..I don't really want to talk about her. I'm actually quite ashamed she has such a bad music taste..
She likes Nickelback, Hinder, and some of these crazy country artists.
I've gotten her into the Beatles but she doesn't like Bob :O

Ask your mom to sing Wedding Song (There Is love).  You'll love what you hear.

My mom love the BeeGees. She was listening a lot of music when I was growing up and I remember hearing a lot of Beatles & Paul McCartney. My father was listening to french canadian singers (Robert Charlebois, Claude Dubois, ect...) and Pink Floyd.

I think the person who influenced me the most when it comes to music is my step-father. He is a big fan of 60's music.
