MCCARTNEY TO CLOSE OLYMPICS OPENER; CONFESSES HE WAS TOO DRUNK TO WRITE SONGS AFTER BEATLES SPLIT: Paul McCartney, who turns 70 on June 18, was knighted in 1997 by Queen Elizabeth for services to British music. His services to England and to music continue as he headlined the Queen's star-studded Diamond Jubilee Concert on the grounds of Buckingham Palace. But he confessed that he's not done with big fantabulous London gigs.
