I've gone with Tug Of War , i think the song Tug Of War is superior to Imagine , it strikes me as more realistic song ?
George Martin's production for me is better on Tug Of War than John & Yoko and Phil Spector's is on Imagine .
And although i like Imagine it is a bit patchy in places .
Gimme Some Truth and Ebony & Ivory are weak songs , so both albums have that in common (teeth1)

I voted for Tug Of War.

I think Imagine has elements that John did not really believe in. I know that John did not embrace a religion, and sometimes denied it. I still think he had some faith that there is a God, and possibly thought there is a religion he should have belonged to.

Tug Of War is multi-dimensional. It can be about the normal Tug Of War of life, or the Tug Of War in a relationship, or any other Tug Of War.

John didn't say that there's no God. He didn't even say that there's no heaven and hell, he just said "imagine there's no heaven". To me his message was "don't do good works to win a place in heaven, do good works to bring heaven to earth".

^^^^^^ Or you could say fly a plane into a building and murder thousands and go to parsdise and be rewarded with 40 virgins or you could say drop nuclear bomb on a city and murder thousands and begin a nuclear arms race to absolve yourself of that horror .

Imagine no suicide bomber , Imagine no mushroom cloud i wonder if you can , yes i can but it won't come soon enough ,soon enough for me .

Because life's a tug of war and mankind is stupid and seldom learns from his mistakes , thats what i think .

I was never a big fan of John's solo output, tho there is some good stuff of course. Paul's Tug Of War was a revelation after the disappointing (to say the least) McCartney II.

Agree Bobber about Tug Of War, a total revalation , not since the movement you need is on your shoulders as Paul been so insightful in a song ?

You forgot about Mary Had A Little Lamb.

So i did, with that wonderful lyric :

Mary had a little Lamb
She hammered on it's head
When she was sure of it's demise
She  skinned it with such glee
And popped it in a pot and hate it for her tea

And she sang la la la la la mint sauce mint sauce

Funny how everyone here says Tug Of War, but Imagine has more votes. Are the Lennon fans hiding in shame? ;)
