Review: Pianist returns to Beatles songs for follow-up album out this week

David Lanz's "Liverpool ... Re-Imagining the Beatles" album, released in 2010, was a beautiful tribute to the music of the Fab Four. The album featured Lanz doing songs including "Things We Said Today," "Rain," "Eight Days a Week," "Lovely Rita," "Norwegian Wood" and "Yes It Is." As a followup, Lanz went back and recorded more Beatles songs. The resulting album, "Here Comes the Sun," is out Tuesday.Actually, we should say albums. The album will be available in two versions,  one featuring accompaniment with flutist Gary Stroutsos, cellist Walter Gray and bassist Keith Lowe and the other with just Lanz and his piano. The solo piano version is available through his website.
