I bet you don't even know who Philly Joe Jones is.

Does he have too to prove he knows his stuff ? if he was worth knowing im sure he would already have heard of him.

It's not who you know, its what you know ;)

I dont know much about him except he was a jazz drummer that played with Miles Davis.

Would you like me to list a page full of drummers i'm sure you dont know anything about?

You turkeynecks would change your tune if you ever heard the orig M Davis hit Four with Philly Joe on drums and Hank Jones on piano. It is 1954 so its not stereo( although a bass/treble job could be done with it similar to what was done with She Loves You) but it is one of the first high fidelity recs and the sound qual is tops. The version of Airegin with S Rollins( and not the hack Coltrane) on Sax is another M Davis classic from the same period but it is on another album.

Miles is in his glory on these two records as well as the later Devil May Care( stereo) He plays without a mute and actually in tune--which is a rarity.

i know pretty well who philly joe jones was you fool.the sad thing about daft remarks like that is that the two 'worthless bangers from the who and led zep'were probably in awe of philly joe.moonie was a massive krupa fan,and bonzo loved all of the old jazzers.
all you have succeeded in doing here is getting peoples' backs up by more or less dismissing out of hand probably the two most influential rock drummers of all time you bloody idiot.mitch mitchell is also lumped in with those useless players as well.roscoe-go and have a quiet word with yourself.you have maybe heard these guys play the drums, you haven't really listened though.pick some sticks up yourself and try it sometime-if you can obviously improve on the useless bangers mentioned you could even carve out a nice little living for yourself?
this will be my last post on this subject folks-i would rather stick matches into dogsh*t than talk to this prat again.

I am not surprised that Moon liked Krupa. They are both the same-- all noise, no swing or feel for music. That is if you call Benny Goodman or the Who music. Krupa was a junkie as well-- I don't know if Moon was.

Krupa had no swing or feel? My god, there is no end to your stupidity.

Dont post another word about drummers (or anything for that matter) because you dont have even the slightest clue.

Moon and Ringo are different kinds of drummers, and I love both of them. When I want to listen to a drummer, I listen to Moon; when I want to listen to a song, I listen to the Beatles.

Actually, I've never been a big fan of Moon, though I can see why people like him. When I want to listen to a drummer specifically, I'll listen to Phil Collins in Brand X.

Iv'e never listened to much Phil Collins but i know what you mean its not just about his playing but his experimenting with his drum sound that makes it so appealing and grabs me in all his songs ihave heard
