what is the best movie of the beatles with actors

just wondering if anyone could tell me a really good movie based onthe guys meeting up and forming the band, ive seen backbeat it was really good but put more emphases on john and stu than the rest of the band. thanks

Have you seen The Birth of the Beatles?? it's awful & the way it's
made is really shabby!  :-/ I find the movie so hilarious, it's that bad.
and the guy who plays Brian Epstein reminds me of Tony Blair! ;D

nah i haven't seen any apart from backbeat, i remember the linda mccartney story and the guy who played paul was a spit for him.

if theres anything you guys can suggest thats decent ill give it a go thanks

There are no good movies based on the Beatles. They need to make a trilogy. The early years, Beatlemania, and the break up years. Like Star Wars!!!

It's a tie between Hard Days Night & Help for me!
Even though my fav fabs movie is Help, i would choose
Hard Days Night as they were all quite tight performances with
Spinetti, Brambell, Junkin & Rossinghton.  :)

Many years ago I saw this movie on TV about the post-Beatle years (can't remember the name of the thing) w/ some unknown actor playing John Lennon (by then living at the Dakota) and AIDAN QUINN (of all ppl) playing Paul McCartney... does anyone remember this one? I dont recall it being that good, I know I sure wouldn't buy it.

Yes, it was called Two of Us, not bad as they go. Backbeat really was the best movie made about the boys. You'd think a fairly decent movie about the most popular band in the world could be made, wouldn't you? Why can they not get it right?!

Ewww, that movie creeped me out. Plus why were the other Stones only in it for like two seconds. I think they had a little more to do with his life than that! I guess it was mainly about the guy who confessed to killing him though. Ick anyway.

i must confess im not a huge stones fan, and im not very clued up on them but i thought ill watch it as im interested in bands bio's, i was really hoping to see mick all mick if you know what a mean, and well kieth all drugged up and just his usual self, but i obviously misjudged it and realised that they werent like that until later on in there career.

but still it was a good movie but yeah sandra it was really sick and you always had a felling something wrong could or would happen at anytime, which kept me on my toes watching it, i would hate to imagine what it would be like actually being around that.

I remember that too, thanks for the title. It wasn't as bad as the critics said it was. Some of it was quite enjoyable.

yeah, i'm not a great stones fan either.
Silmilar kinda thing is i watched Walk The Line recently & it's
brilliant movie done well about Johnny Cash, but i'm not
a Cash fan. But it's very interested to learn what these groups /
singers did or went through.

Do yourself a favor and skip Hours and Times, about the vacation Lennon and Brian Epstein took together.  It was like watching a student film made by an amateur.  The actor playing Lennon was good (the same guy who played him in "Backbeat"), but he didn't really do anything other than mope and stay sullen.  I have a hard time believing that John Lennon was completely joyless, but this movie would have you believe otherwise.
And the dude they cast as Brian Epstein could be further from reality (looks-wise).  

I saw "Two of Us," and after awhile you forget you're looking at Adian Quinn.  it was decent.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on what's out there), I haven't seen anything else yet.  NetFlix has a wealth of Beatles titles, so I'll slowly check em out and report back.

andy i aint no huge johnny cash fan but i watched walk the line just to see how guys like cash elvis jerry all got on during tours .
