Itchycoo Park is one of my favorites

I only just got into the Small Faces earlier this year, i foolishly dimissed them over the years,
but no came the conclusion that they were very inventive & had wondeful songs! Itchyoo Park is
my personal fav of theirs & i really love the Ogden's Gone Flake (can't remeber the full title, :P).
all or Nothing was quite far out for the time in 1966..

I have to admit, I first heard of the Small Faces only because Jimmy briefly joined the reformed Small Faces after leaving Wings but I got into the original Small Faces and their music is fab.

'Lazy Sunday' is probably my favorite, but I like the song 'Own Up Time' too. I dig the organ on that tune.

(Ok, how do you people get the videos to show up? I hit the youtube tabe and put the link inbetween the tabs and nothing.)

Lazy Sunday is great. That's one of my favorites as well and try adding the code at the end of the video link, not the whole link itself. Then it should work for you.
I also dig "Mad John"

Use only the part behind the 'v='. So in this case, just put the code 'B8QcrF1oBwg' inbetween the tabs.
Example (exclude the spaces): [ youtube ]B8QcrF1oBwg[ /youtube ]

Thanks Cor. I've been wondering what i've been doing wrong for a long time now. I might have to test.

Ticket stub for Jimmy's hometown gig in Glasgow just after leaving Wings. September 16, 1977.

I got this setlist from a humble-pie.net
1977
The reformed Small Faces. Their 1977 sets centred around the following format:
Whatcha Gonna Do About It
Everybody Needs Somebody to Love
High and Happy
All or Nothing
Find It
Itchycoo Park
Smiling in Tune
Tin Soldier
Playmates
Looking for Love
Lazy Sunday
Later they included Jimmy McCulloch in the line-up and some additional live songs such as Bob Seger's Fire Down Below. The Small Faces comeback had been hyped up by the Music Press, and the audience was meanwhile disappearing towards the New Wave acts. Basically, they didn't sell well enough.

I'll resurect this puppy.
Nice to see Mojo doing a feature and on Steve Marriott the (http://www.mojocovercds.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/mojo_display/smallfaces.jpg) is pretty cool too.
It is also nice to see the albums getting deluxe treatment in May.
Love The Small Faces, a band that burned very brightly for an all too brief time
-
Favourite Small Faces tracks are:
Don't Burst My Bubble
I Got Mine
The Autumn Stone
-
I love the Small Faces - a brilliant band.
Steve Marriott was a great singer.
I think Tin Soldier is my favourite of theirs. And this one as well ...
SMALL FACES - Afterglow of your love (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zkAgrMfoc4#)

Just picked Uncut's Ultimate Music Guide for Small Faces & Faces.
A nice relaxing read in between Lewisohn's tome.
-
Ian McLagan of The Small Faces has died.
Yet another one bites the dust - alas, this is going to get a more regular thing in the next few years.
The run of 45s the group had from 1965 to the end of the decade (including some fabulous flip sides like 'Understanding', which could have been a no. 1 if put out as an 'a') puts them in the Premier League for me.....maybe near the bottom of the Premier League, needing a couple of wins to secure safety from relegation.....but the Premier League nonetheless.

He'd been out touring until the end. The newspaper I work for did a piece on him. He mentioned that a full-on Faces reunion was in the works. Such a shame.
roll:)
