Title: Help
Post by: Taxgirl on April 06, 2004, 01:57:26 PM
Chose your fave song.  :) (I really like "it's only love" from the album, but it doesn't appear in the film)

It was a toss up between "Ticket To Ride" and "You're Going To Lose That Girl." I chose the latter. Why? I'm not sure.

I've always been a fan of 'The Night Before". It may not be the best song out of those listed, but its my favorite.

Help. (It's what I voted for)

But if Help is not included (since it WAS a single) then by all means The Night Before.

I'll have my vote in a minute... this thread has SO put me in the mood to watch the film! So, seeing as it's my day off and I'm in the mood to do nothing, I'm gonna watch it right now!

Yes, I DO have it - twice! One copy in mono, the other in stereo!

And I DID watch it today and enjoyed with very much! I never realised just how much John was the star! (Ooh, that's SO gonna cause an argument!)

I cast my vote for You've Got To Hide Your Love Away because it's one of the best parts of the film, closely followed by Ticket To Ride and You're Going To Lose That Girl.

You've got to hide your love away was one fo the first songs I learned to play, so it means a lot to me, but I voted you're gonna lose that girl, because it is soooo damn catchy, I love it!! And I love watching that part of the movie, John is so damn good-lookin' :K), *faint*, lol, goo-goo-gaa-gaa :K)

Yes you are, Ringo the star the whole plot is based on ringo and his rings.

I was going to vote Ticket to Ride but it won't let me?

The plot may  be based on Ringos ring, but check just how many scenes John is in.

If you didn't vote already, it should work. I don't know what's the problem, keep on trying.

But without a plot there's no story.[/quote]

The point I'm making is despite the fact that the film's plot revolves around Ringo and his Eastern ring, John seems to have most of the scenes.

I voted for "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away".  I love that part in the movie when they're doing that song.

My husband bought me the DVD back in 1997 or 1998 and in all this time, he has yet to watch it with me.  He doesn't know what he's missing!!!!!!!!!!!

It became a toss-up between You've got to hide your love away and The night before - I chose the latter, I simply adore the part that goes "When I held you near/You where so sincere..."

It didn't really surprise me You got to hide... is taking the lead - what shocks me is that somebody else actually chose the same as me ;) And all this time I thought I had weird tastes. Anyway, with Ticket to ride erroring on us there isn't really a fair result (I suspected it really would win)

I voted for "The Night Before," but all the songs in the movie were great. "Another Girl was close behind... I love the harmonies when they sing, "...another girl who will love me to the end / Through thick and thin, she will always be my friend."

I love "you're gonna lose..." it has great back up vocals.

Speaking of which, does anybody else enjoy singing the backing vocals to help rather than the lead? Don;t know why, but I do
