I was going to explain what "A four of fish and finger pie" meant, but it might offend some people!!!

lol wikipedia manages an explanation without the offensive details I'm reckoning:

''The mysterious lyrics "A four of fish and finger pie" are British slang. "A four of fish" refers to fourpennyworth of fish and chips, while "finger pie" is sexual slang of the time, apparently referring to intimate fondlings between teenagers in the bus shelter, which was a familiar meeting place. ''

3. 'Hello Goodbye' came about after Alistair Taylor (a guy who worked for Brian Epstein) asked Paul how he wrote his songs so Paul offered him an example- using a harmonium he asked Alistair to yell out the opposite of what he sang as he played the harmonium- and 'Hello Goodbye' was completed shortly afterwards

1. On the day of recording it, John arrived at the studio to find a homeless man hanging around the front door and the man introduced himself as Jesus Christ  ::) ... at which point John, quite amused, invited him to sit in on the song's recording. After the session, the man left the studio and was never heard from by any of The Beatles ever again 8) ...

Actually Paul stated in an interview that it was he who invited this man to the session ... I still remember that interview ... he was promoting Off The Ground (1993) and Paul said that the man knocked on his Cavendish Avenue home door and told him that he was Jesus Christ ... Paul then invited him to go to the studio with him because (I don't remember Paul's exact words but it was something like this: ) "Of course, I didn't believe that he was Jesus, that was a time of drugs, but you never know, y'know  ;D" ... of course, Paul! ::)

3. The song was inspired by actor Peter Fonda, who was dropping acid with Lennon and George Harrison. When Harrison had a bad trip and thought he was going to die, Fonda told him not to worry, that "I know what it's like to be dead." This gave Lennon the idea for the the lyrics.

4. Paul McCartney recalls that the band had a row before the track was recorded, with McCartney walking out. His vocal is certainly missing, and George Harrison is thought to be the bass player, though many sources insist that it was Paul all along. George Harrison did however contribute the line 'when I was a boy, everything was right'. Well done him
