Baby's Request from Back To The Egg. He returns to the genre every now and then. I wouldn't put Rocky Raccoon in the same corner tho.

It's funny that a lot of people put Your Mother Should Know in this vaudeville thing, but I never understood that. It sounds quite different from When I'm 64 and Honey Pie to me.

Maybe it's because the Your Mother Should Know sequence in Magical Mystery Tour is somewhat vaudeville?
I don't know, that's my best guess.

I've always thought of the three of them as a set. I think the MMT sequence is vaudeville because of the song, not the other way round. I take it when Paul first wrote When I'm 64 it was a "straight" song.
George Martin produced a band whose name i can't remember before he was with The Beatles which had the same sound, so he might have been a big influence in all of this.

^^^^ I just checked she did cover Honey Pie on her 1969 album "What About Today " , she also coverd With A Little Help From My Friends  and Goodnight on that album , looks like Babs was a bit of a fan of Pepper and The White Album ?

I think Paul himself called it "music hall" music. Music hall is a little different from vaudeville-- it's sort of the English version of the American vaudeville, I think, but they're similar enough to be linked together. At one point I was trying to educated myself more on this and wikipedia'd both terms, which I actually recommend if you're curious, even though now I don't remember what I read there. :)

I also think "Your Mother Should Know" kind of belongs in this group, even if less so. I just think it's the inferior example of the genre, compared to "When I'm 64" and "Honey Pie."

Honey Pie is the one Beatles song that sounds like it could have been written by Victoria Wood
