I'm always amused when I listen to the end of George Harrison's "Piggies" on the White Album, when I hear him ask, "one more time?"  then a weird orchestration kicks in and finishes the song.

Was that a mistake that Harrison and George Martin thought was actually cool, or what?

I don't think it was a mistake. It was just for effect.

but that wasn't actually the intended outro. there is an unused overdub for Piggies which is manic laughter on a loop that was the original ending of the song. it's pretty cool. I could email it to you if you wanted.

From what I can tell, the outro is in a different key, up half a step to the key of E.

This sort of makes it a bit of an intro into the next song ("Rocky Raccoon"), as it is in Am. Though of course songs don't need to be at all related to the key of the song that precedes it. So maybe it's just a random key change.

I've always liked it though!
