Strange question
« on: June 23, 2007, 08:09:48 PM »

Do any of you notice some (not frequent, but still there) pops or clicks in your Beatles tracks? I've noticed slight "clicks" in songs like "Because", "Helter Skelter", and "For No One", and also some tracks seem to have a background hissing noise, like the kind of noise you get when a speaker is turned up loud (though it isn't). I've just been wondering if it's like that because my files are low quality or just because of the age of the Beatles tracks (considering most of the digital versions came out in '87).

Also, does the infamous "bottle of Claret" conversation from The White Album start off "Revolution 9", or end "Cry Baby Cry"?

Yes, i do hear these things which is what makes the Beatles even more exciting to listen to!! :)
Here's a very good site on the Beatles songs which talk about these things!

Nice site! Thanks for that. Also, has anyone noticed in "Get Back (single version)" from Past Masters, Volume Two, at about 0:07, the sound has an evident click/pop? It sounds pretty weird, anyone else here it?

Well, you could say that there are some imperfections in this perfect songs...
My favourite is John's "Got the wrong chord!" on Hey Jude (from the site mentioned: http://www.pootle.demon.co.uk/wgo.htm)
