The Phil Collins thing is a storm in a teacup and typical of that odious, over-hyped, thin-skinned, selfish little turd who isn't fit to shine Paul's shoes.McCartney is human, and errs just as we all do, only he does it under the powerful magnifying glare of enduring global fame. Inevitably he's put a foot wrong here and there. In particular the one he marched down the aisle alongside his own two feet back in 2002. BIG mistake Paul!!And the less said about "Press To Play" the better. But an "idiot"? no way. He has his critics but he's a pretty shrewd operator and, I'd like to think, a pretty nice guy beyond the limelight. If he has one failing which I personally find irritating it's his inbuilt craving for approval and appreciation. Jeez this guy has done more than any other living rock star to validate himself and justify his legacy, but STILL he seems to need that audience adulation. Can't help the way we're made I suppose. But he long ago transcended the need to prove anything. Sometimes he cares too much about how he's perceived.
I just want to apologize for what I said about Paul retiring and about "his mess." I didn't mean it. I was in a bad mood and I took it out on Paul. Guess I'm just a jealous old man who's envious of another old man who's had success beyond all imagining! Kudos to Paul! I've derived so much pleasure and enjoyment from his songs over the years. I've listened to his solo stuff more than the other Beatles' solo stuff. (I still think John's the greatest, however! John just had this incredible mystique/magic/heaviness/charisma about him.)
