I don't...I like the original version sung by the Beatles. I just like them more as one group (smitten)

Not really fond of his cover....or that album for any matter....just something I don't really enjoy listening to much...

I've never heard it - but the actual thought of it makes me cringe!

Ringo is still under the impression that it wasn't him on drums when Love Me Do was originally released in 1962 - it was! The album version isn't him though - it's session musician Andy white - but he does play a mean tambourine!

In 1964, Ringo's version was scrapped, and the album version was used on all subsequent releases and re-issues right up until it re-appeared on Capitol's Beatle Rarities LP in the late Seventies. It later surfaced on the UK 20th Anniversary 12" single re-issue and then on the Past Masters CD.

*Note: There was a boxed set of Beatles LPs released in the Eighties which featured the Ringo version - it also appeared on a few obscure overseas LPs (not US or UK).

THIS is why the thought of Ringo's version of Love Me Do makes me cringe - it was because Paul's DREADFUL PS Love Me Do was so awful!

I will of course give Ringo's version a decent listen if it happens to come my way ;D

I like it enough for what it is, but it can't touch the Beatles' version.

Ringo also covered I Call Your Name.  With both, you get what you pay for -- an interesting trip of nostalgia by one of only four people who could carry it off decades later.

I'd like to hear that.

Even though Ringo is a terrible singer, everything he sings just sounds charming somehow.

I wouldn't say Ringo is a terrible singer - he certainly did a cracking version of Boys. :)
