....I've never heard any of Roger's solo stuff. Wonder if I should give some of it a listen.
You could try "The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking".  The tracks on it are not especially catchy, but the concept (all the songs are titled for the time that the dreams come to him) is quite intelligent.  Clapton makes an appearance on 5:01AM (The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking) so that's worth a listen.

I didn't really like Radio KAOS, I think it was disjointed and rambled (plus a lot of it is whispered!) so I wouldn't start there.  Amused to Death was also quite good but you need to remember that there's no Dave Gilmour to take the edge off Roger's singing.....   ;)

That's the thing. I can only take so much of Roger's singing. Dave's voice on the other hand.... Guess that's why I can stand the Division Bell. Sort of. Then again I haven't gotten into any solo Dave either.

Its pure genius.  I love dark side, animals, wish you were here as well, but the Wall is incredibly powerful and damn good music.  Dark Side comes very close with it's nearly perfect ending songs, but the Wall also benefits from having more songs in my opinion.  The White Album is my fav. Beatles, so maybe I just like quantity

Yeah, I like a lot of the songs on the Wall. I don't know if it's their best overall though. It can't miss with that many songs. Wish You Were Here has only five and yet each one is brilliant. So how do you compare? I listen to both frequently anyway. Dave's opinion on the Wall isn't very flattering though. But I think thats the bitterness thing again!! He says it lacks soul. Maybe he's really talking about Roger.

Basically. They were still sort of collaborating at that point, but not much. Dave got a producing credit to make him happy but the Wall is really the beginning of Roger's reign of terror. The Final Cut being his take over.

I heard the only reason waters stayed with floyd for the final cut is because he was still under contract and had to release an album...dunno if it's a fact though...

And yet Roger has never been as successful in his solo career. I wonder why he still thinks it was all him. Ever hear what he called Floyd after he left? It's actually pretty funny. He said it all got very Spinal Tap with Dave's new wife writing songs and all. He's got a point there, but I can see why the other's carried on.
