I'm on FB under my name lukepowers.  Friend me if you're on!

I took the Beatles quiz too.  Hate to say it, 100% too.  I guess that means I have to face Bobber in the semi-finals.

Some tricky questions--like the one about the earliest Bob Dylan influence: "Beatles for Sale" or "Help"?  "You Got to Hide Your Love Away" (Help) seems like the most obvious choice, but I figured they were getting too tricky and chose BFS ("I'm a Loser?" doesn't seem particularly Dylanesque to me, but it's not about holding hands, so go figure.  Unless the quizmaker was thinking of the quixotic cover "Mr Moonlight" like some of Bob's oddball covers!   Hah!)

Not related to the quiz, but just some musings on Facebook:

I think FB is great for keeping in touch, staying informed of events, and that sort of thing, but it has some big downsides too. Namely, it allows people to be obnoxiously passive-agressive in dealing with others. I'm always hearing about the drama of being broken up with on Facebook. It seems all you have to do is change your relationship status to "single" to let someone know that they've been dumped. That's even worse than breaking up with someone over the phone! I'm also seeing a lot of passive-agressive digs in people's statuses as well. For instance, someone might write "John Doe is cleaning up the kitchen... again! Somebody forgot to put away the dishes." You know, that sort of thing, but usually a little more snarky and petty than that.
And then, of course, there's the whole "de-friending" thing. I've de-friended a few people myself: a former friend who stabbed me in the back, and some people who really don't know me, but added me because we have the vaguest connection to each other. But I think it's really cold to just de-friend someone you've known for a long time for no reason at all. There are also those people who de-friend you whenever you have the slightest little argument.

Anyway, it's just something to think about.

I broke down and signed up for an account. I'm so ashamed! I blame it on my niece and her new baby. I wanted to see the pics. I emailed my best friend back in NY to get her to join and she sounds just like I did before I joined! It's funny, hardly any of my old LI friends are on there, but TONS of my old AZ friends are. Maybe it's a regional thing. Heh. Either way, I've gone to the dark side. Any more of my family members contact me though and I'm outta there!  ??)

You can use the block application if you don't want specific people to find you, and you can tighten up your profile privacy settings too. ;)

I'm still learning. I just got my cousin to sign up. She knows less than I do! I still can't get my best bud to do it though. And she's being mean about it!!

you know hot on FB you can do those "How well Do you Know [insert person's name here]" Quizes? Well, a friend of mine made one and, while I am her closest friend [in a way] to my shamefulness I got..... 1/10 correct!!!! But then I disagree with her answers....

It's okay, I made a quiz about me and no one passed it, even people who've known me for years.  I didn't think it was that hard!

You can join pages (not to be confused with groups) of people/things you like and get their updates on the main page.

Here's one to start you off:
