Just watching this on BBC world news, Im just so upset at the thought of those poor people who have died and the seriously injured and their families, such a sad Christmas for them

Yeah, but nobody can agree on what. Seems all the politicians do is argue and get nothing done.

This country is going to hell in a handbasket. And you're right; it is extremely sad. My heart breaks for all the innocent victims and their families.

I agree Kathy. I remember that there was a mass shooting at a McDonald's in San Diego when I was in college. I was so frightened and worried that it would keep happening and being away from home didn't help. It took me quite a while to get over it. But that was nothing compared to the way I feel now. I think of how I was feeling almost 19 years ago to the day when we lost my sister and then imagine how these people feel, knowing that their loss was not just a random accident but on purpose. It boggles my mind.

Sad topic. What is mass shooting? It is shooting in public, killing random people, right?

According to shootingtracker.com total deaths by year:

• 2015 - 462
• 2014 - 383
• 2014 - 502

Strange that guns.com in 2013 said that it is only 543 deaths in mass shooting since 1982:
