But it was inevitable that these Bay Area folk groups plugged in and went electric with some of these folk standards. By 1964, young people wanted to hear something more lively than Michael Row The Boat Ashore.

Look what George Harrison started with his acquisition in 1963 of the first Rickenbacker 360-12 built. You see that same 12-string electric guitar in both The Vejtables' I Still Love You and We Five's You Were On My Mind videos.
And, though from LA, Roger McGuinn recognized just how special this guitar can sound...

Hey Todd, here's something that might interest you. The Feel...The Vejtables liner notes mention that Jan Errico started playing drums just one week before her first gig with the band in late 1964. And she was still in high school!
