Is Pete the drummer in this recording?

And who's the drummer here?  It doesn't look like Ringo or Pete to me.

It's Ringo, Loco.  You can see this better here...

Thanks, Hello Goodbye.  I see the date of August 22nd.  Pete was fired on the 16th so it couldn't have been him.

Ringo was playing some pretty good drums on that song and he was moving his head side to side.  I don't know if Pete moved in time with the music or not but Ringo sure did.  It's interesting how the Beatles turned to face Ringo for a few seconds.  Why did they do that?

The Cavern footage was shot by a TV crew, Loco.  Other than photos...

...I've never seen any footage of The Beatles performing with Pete Best.  Maybe they turned around to see if Ringo was still there.   ;D

As to whether or not Pete moved his head when he drummed for The Beatles, I can't say but he certainly moves his head these days...

Thanks, Hello Goodbye:  I liked the photos.  Pete looked good in them and he smiled a lot.

The music he played with the Beats seemed to lack a bass drum sound.  The snare drum sounded like plastic and didn't have a lot of tone or volume.  I saw there was another drummer in the back.  So why did they have an extra drummer?  I'm not saying it's to compensate for Pete because I know a lot of other bands use two or "more" drummers nowadays.  What's with all the percussion anyway?

Rock and Roll Music by John Lennon is beyond compare.  John's version is awesome.  I never ever liked "My Bonnie."  It's a crappy song sung traditionally or as bogus rock and roll.  You may as well take Mary had a little Lamb and try to rock it up.  I wouldn't.  Hmmmm - didn't Paul do something like that solo??

Look at it this way, Loco, The Beats had the chance to say they performed with a real Beatle.

You know something, Hello Goodbye?  Pete Best may have been fired from the Beatles but the truth is he will always be remembered as a Beatle.  Ironic, isn't it?

It’s as it should be. Whatever his shortcomings as a drummer he was a Beatle when they rose from Liverpool nonentity to regional sensation. He missed the National and international fame but he always deserves to be known as a Beatle.
