Were those mannequins meant to look like John Lennon & Paul McCartney?
There was a programme I saw recently on the Travel Channel called "Britain's Top Ten Castles". One of the castles that they showed at #8 was Edinburgh Castle in Edinburgh, Scotland. They were talking about how the Scottish crown jewels are on display there and their history. They went on about how the jewels were restored 400 years ago. There is an exhibit there that explains the process of how the jewels were restored with displays and mannequins. In the middle of this exhibit, there is a workshop thats shows two craftsmen at work on restoration of the jewels, who uncannily appear to be or resemble John Lennon (with specs) and Paul McCartney as they appeared around the Pepper era in 1967. In this case, they have beards, too, and the Macca looking mannequin has a kind of looking moptop but his hair is red, and they are wearing Elizabethean outfits of the era and the John looking mannequin is wearing a hat and he is holding up what looks like a sceptre in his left hand in the air that he is looking at. While the Paul looking mannequin, is sitting on a chair sewing a tapestry it appears. Perhaps the mannequin makers were having a wee bit of fun.
