Halloween!
« on: September 17, 2005, 03:32:38 AM »

I know Halloween isn't for a while yet, but if you're anything like me you probably start planning a costume over the summer. So this is a thread to talk about your costumes for this year, or reminisce about costumes of the past.

This year I'm thinking of going as either Marilyn Monroe (if I can find a wig) or the Dancing Queen (I have my cousin's old disco outfit from the Seventies).

I think it's a real cop-out to buy your costume in stores, what do you guys think?

If I went to a costume party or something, I'd buy (now that I got a job) a Jay Turser violin bass and a very cheap suit.

My mom used to make my costumes. This year I'm going as a cat. I have ears and a tail, now i just need something to go with it.

As for buying costumes in stores, it all depends on what you're looking for. Last year I went as Velma from Scooby-Doo. I oculdn't find the actual costume so I had to pull it together from different stores.

Man am I glad it's over! Too much scary stuff on tv this month. And I'm into that stuff so I tend to watch a lot of it. But now I'm to the point where if I watch one more horror movie I'll have to sleep with the lights on! I just may have to anyway because I just watched The Exorcist tonight. I don't know how people think that's NOT scary! It's the worst for me. My heart almost fails. I have to put on the comedy channel or something before I go to bed.

Best line from The Exorcist that is NOT obscene: What an excellent day for an excorcism.

The other great line is highly offensive, so I won't write it. But...it begins with Your mother....;D

I didn't get to watch Hocus Pocus this year. You know, the one with Bette Midler as Winnie the Witch? Man, I'm disappointed. That's like a tradition for me. :(

Boy I haven't been around.  Blog, "other" camera, and some guys I met in a band!  I went to Chicago to see them again, love their music.  Well... leaves on tree this year for Boo night, it was pretty!  Jogging every night about a mile.  I have a journal.  www.livejournal.com/users/jasperita

timmy can pick the hens up and push their heads gently down against their bellies and then lay them down on the ground...they end up looking like a headless chicken.they will stay that way till he picks them back up....

Halloween is probably my favorite holiday besides Christmas, because you get free candy and you get to dress up. I'm really into Halloween costumes and I make my own every year. This year, I'm planning to go as Carrie from the Stepen King novel/movie, complete with fake tiara, sash, and "blood" soaked prom dress. I hope that this wil be the year I will win the Best Costume prize at my school's Halloween dance that I so rightfully deserve.

What about the rest of you? What are you going to be for Halloween? What are you going to do? I don't know what I'm going to do this year. 16 might be a little too old for trick-or-treating, but I don't want to stay home because no one ever comes. I might do a little trick or treating if my younger cousin comes along, that way I'll have an excuse for going. I also hope to go to the haunted house that the community sets up every year at a town near mine.
