Sgt Pepper anniversary.
« on: May 30, 2007, 11:37:32 AM »

The Beast is upon us. Things I've noticed so far:
1) an article in a paper as to why Paul won't be celebrating. (too busy with MAF)
2) An article on Monday's BBC  TV morning news.
3) Next week BBC Radio 4 is running a series of short stories inspired by Pepper.

BBC Radio 2 is doing a two hour show on 2 June @ 16.30 playing the tribute album. I suspect Mr Emerick will be a talking head.

There's a programme on BBC 2 (UK) about Sgt Pepper on Sat 2nd June.
Strange how they never show these kind of things on the actual date! :-/

They're doing something at the Hollywood Bowl in August. Cheap Trick, Aimee Mann, Joan Osborne and some others are gonna do the entire Sgt. Pepper album. Sounds cool. I love anything at the Hollywood Bowl.

All these celebrations show us that Sgt Pepper is the major Beatles album in the history of Beatlekind. I can't remember Revolver-celebrations from last year and I strongly doubt if there will be a White Album-memorial next year.

Has anybody noticed the wax-models of the Beatles on the Pepper cover:
somebody pointed this out to me this week:

Ringo looks like 'Pete Townshead'
and
George looks more like 'Tony Blair' ;D ;D

Yep. I think they borrowed them from Madame Tusaurds. Their stuff never really looks right to me.

I agree with Ringo 100% when he says that the White Album is better than Sgt. Pepper & personally speaking, it is the Beatles ultimate masterpiece.

It's great to be back Bobber, I know what I did wrong a long time ago, that's way off in the past anyway, I'm here as a dedicated fan & the Beatles are the best.
