I bought "Anna (Go To Him)" by Arthur Alexander in the fall of 1962 when I was 16.

Hope you've still got it! :)

I hope not! I have no idea why the Beatles were so fascinated with him at one point!

Of course, he's now pushing up the tulips that he used to tip-toe through!

Juniorsfarm now has the Arthur Alexander CD - ask him what he thinks of it! :)

I love the Arthur Alexander CD. I don't know if I'd want to compare him to anyone, he had such a nice style. I guess if you crossed Sam Cooke with Brook Benton, it might sound something like Arthur, but that's not really the point. The man, as all too often, wrote some wonderful songs and others used them as a launching pad, and unless you are an aficionado like TE, they go virtually un-noticed. We had Thanksgiving dinner listening to Arthur, next thing I know, my Brother-In-Law wants to burn it for his Father in Amsterdam who loves old U.S. R&B, my Sister wants a copy, etc. Thanks for the heads up Al.

So he's really underrated, isn't he? The tracklist is really superb. It's time for me to listen to Arthur.
Gracias, amigo for the review.

No problem whatsoever - it makes me immensely pleased when I play his music to others and they totally flip! :)

The greatest hits and Rainbow Road -both albums by Arthur Alexander- are available for downloading in the Bootleg-section.
