Fantasy Beatle Concerts
« on: April 02, 2005, 05:15:46 AM »

I was just thinking of concerts that I wish the Beatles had done, both as a group and individually. Here's what I thought would be nice. I realize that none would sound like the record - but that's a plus, isn't?

*How about the Beatles performing Sgt Pepper, with SFF and Penny Lane thrown in? What a concert, with A Day In The Life as a great climax. Alternatively - or in addition! - how about Abbey Road performed from Come Together to The End (yeah, I mean Her Maj)?

And a concert from:

**George. I think he's given the concert - in Japan, 1991 (?). I wish I'd seen it; great song selection I thought.

***John. An evening with John Lennon showcasing that wonderful voice doing only rock standards. Excellent!

****Paul. I would really like Paul to perform Ram live. Ram's attraction for me is the variety of styles (musical and vocal) on the album. I think it would be a great concert.

*Ringo. Sadly, I have no desire to see Ringo in concert. He would probably call out 'What's my name?'!!

What fantasy concert would you like?

A Sgt Pepper era concert would be a cool one, with all their uniforms and stuff.

I think Sgt. Pepper's would've made a great show. =O And the Abbey Road medley would be so~ amazing live as well. Or almost any set with a loooooong "Hey Jude".

^_~ Fantasy concert, fantasy Beatle groupies.

I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we pass the audition.

All the concerts they did do were fantasy concerts to me. God I wish I could've seen them. I'd love to have seen them in Hamburg,at the Cavern,on one of their US tours,or even on the rooftop.
I'd love to have seen them do a concert that had songs from their whole career-from Love Me Do to Let It Be.

I'll keep it a little more realistic:

Paul & band with Ringo on drums doing a set with only Beatles songs. I'd love to see that.

Paul and John circa 1973 uniting and having a jam session in some cofeehouse.

Sgt. Pepper, Abbey Road, and White Album concerts would have been awsome and I also like the idea of doing all of their songs in one concert I wouldn't mind seeing them start at like Love Me Do and go all the way to Get Back.  What also would be great would have been to see them in 1968 or '69 playing their old set I wonder if John would have been able to sing Twist And Shout at all by then?  Ringo would be the one I'd want to see in concert the most out of the 4 because you'd get excellent music and he'd be able to keep the audience entertained he would put on an awsome show no doubt about it.

Beatles 2005. Just the four of them. No session musicians.

That would have been great but sometimes I think it's good that The Beatles broke up and stayed apart.  The reason being is that The Beatles where on top when they broke up and that way they can never go downhill but the other bands from the 60's that stayed together and still keep playing together are a little corny now and don't really have the impact that they once had.  I fear that if The Beatles didn't break up then over the years they would have become washed up.  The Anthology was great but they got saved by the luck that definatly protects The Beatles but I think that after the Anthology if Ringo, Paul and George went on tour maybe with John's songs recorded and backing the recording or like having Sean or Julian join them then The Beatles would have definatlly started going downhill.
