SSG-Abbey Rd Results
« on: October 14, 2007, 10:58:14 AM »

Here are the results for Part 11 of The Song Survivor Game. Abbey Road. The top three romped home:

1. Here Comes The Sun   29
2. Something   28
3. You Never Give Me Your Money   21

The rest of the vote was as follows:

4. I Want You (She's So Heavy)   13
5. Come Together   12
6. Because   9
7. Oh! Darling   6
=7. She Came In Through The Bathroom Window   6
9. Golden Slumbers   5
=9. Polythene Pam   5
11. The End   3
12. Carry That Weight   1

The 'worst' was a much closer affair with Maxwell's Silver Hammer (9 votes) just pipping Her Majesty (8) to the post. Those two were streets ahead of everything else.

Trivia corner: The first time George has had two songs in the top three. Cue George frenzy!

The second week running that George has toped the vote.

Mean Mr. Mustard was the only song to receive no votes at all, in either category.

Nice frenzy, Flaming Pie in the Sky!  ;D

I'm glad that "Here Comes The Sun" and "Something" are only 1 vote apart. They're both such wonderful songs. It's interesting that the top 4 songs are all songs written from the heart. The Beatles are at their best, I think, when they have genuine emotion to inspire them. Good work, guys! (and Forum!) *joins the frenzy... quietly, with a cup of coffee and bathrobe*

I think it was a foregone conclusion that one of those songs would win. Interesting to see how they do in the next round.
