Title: Are Ringo The 4th & Bad Boy great albums?
Post by: Wayne L. on March 18, 2005, 02:26:48 PM
I think Ringo The 4th & Bad Boy are two of the worst albums in the history of mankind which most Beatles fans would have to admit since it seems like Ringo was more than just drinking a lot at the time he was lost in his legend.  The album covers themselves are as cheap & cheesy as the music which gives you an idea that this former Beatle must have been out of it mentally & creatively in those days releasing crap like these 2 albums.

Ringo the 4th and Bad Boy are better than some of McCartney's efforts. So don't lay into Ringo too hard. McCartney should be more ashamed of his bottom-rung products than Ringo, as Macca is supposed to have talent!

A man of McCartney's talents should hang his head in shame at such poor quality albums as:

*At The Speed Of Sound
*Press To Play
*Off The Ground
*McCartney II
*Pipes Of Peace

just to name a few.

And please don't point to the few good songs in all these albums. Most of the songs are shallow, lazy, and utterly forgettable and cringe-making. All up, similar to what people say about Ringo The 4th and Bad Boy. But as I say, Macca is supposed to have the talent.

I didn't enjoy Wild Life too much. It's very forgettable... Then again look at the genius McCartney put into the Beatles... He was probably too burnt out creatively to come up with anything good afterwards... Know what I mean?

Though Ram and Band on the Run are solid efforts and McCartney (I) has got a lot of character. :)

I liked Ringo's Sentimental Journey, though I'm not so into country, so Beaucoups of Blue isn't really my cup of tea... but I haven't heard these two albums... I'm sure they're decent in their own right, though

Better also than probably half of Georges efforts, but I guess that isnt bad as George isnt supposed to have talent.

I love "Flowers in the Dirt" and "Off The Ground".  Ringo's albums were getting so bad after awhile that I have 'Bad Boy' and 'The 4th' albums still sealed, but wanted to have them for the collection. I like that one song of his that was on the 'Curly Sue' soundtrack that wasn't released on any other album, I think it was called 'You Never Know'.

I think At The Speed Of Sound, McCartney II & Pipes Of Peace are much better than Ringo The 4th & Bad Boy ever could be by a long shot.

If anybody wants to be Ringo's butt boy or girl & say Ringo The 4th & Bad Boy are great albums than that's their problem mentally, musically & intellectually.

What the hell is a butt boy or girl? is it like a fanboy or fangirl? Cause I hate those people SO MUCH and I resent you comparing us Macca fans to them!

If anybody thinks Ringo The 4th & Bad Boy are good albums or even average albums from Ringo worth listening to over & over again, you're crazy!

everybody misses a few times.i just wonder why he released them and risk embarassment rather than have wayne write him a few million seller songs.
forgive me wayne if i misread your contempt for an accomplished musician as professional jealousy...oh no here come the hounds.....

W-anal--stop being such a dink and let people have their say. You have marginal knowledge about anything Beatles and your post/opinions always have to be the gospel. Its opinions. Yes, the 4th and Bad Boy stunk. So what? It doesn't mean anyone is intellectually or mentally inferior if they disagree. Get over yourself.

Heh, these aren't even Ringo's worst albums.......Rotogravure is pretty dreadful and the brand new Choose Love is also a lemon.

Don't worry, it'll get more listens as I don't really slag an album after only one play through, but I really enjoyed Ringo Rama from the first go around.......a lot more "Beatley"

Ringo has improved since then with Time Takes Time, Vertical Man & Ringorama but Ringo The 4th & BB are two of the worst albums ever made by a former Beatle or anybody.

Don't you're exaggerating a bit when you say that they are the worst albums by anyone ever? I'm just saying...

I'm not exaggerating at all Mairi because I did listen to Ringo The 4th & Bad Boy more than once as a Beatles fan in my early teens at the time & they are two of the worst albums ever made by anybody.

Why would I want to listen to Ringo The 4th & Bad Boy again because they're terrible albums & I heard them the first time around back in the late 70's.

I listened to them enough times to know they're bad albums not worth buying or renting at the local library.

Can She Do It Likes She Dances & Sneaking Sally Through The Alley are the only good tracks on Ringo The 4th but it's one of the worst albums Ringo ever released when he seemed lost in his legend as a former Beatle at the time.
