I was going to start a topic like this since all it seems to do lately is rain but I see Andrés did it last year! I guess I missed it. Now I have to think harder because the most of the ones I was thinking of are taken. LOL Here's one I didn't see:

The Lovin'Spoonful: "Rain on the Roof"

The first time I ever heard this song was during an AV class in college. The album was in the lab, apparently someone's cast-off and that appalled me!

This is one of the songs that The Beatles did in the Cavern days. George was on lead vocals and often changed "raining in my heart" to "raining in the yard".  ;D

I love the Carpenters. Is it ok to admit that?

Yes, I think it's very ok. I love them too. I'm not surprised that you do, given their close association with the Wrecking Crew. Of course, you probably weren't looking for reassurance from a girl, LOL, but I think you'll find that you're not the only guy here with that opinion.

Banned by many radio stations was "Lightning Lou" Christie's Rhapsody In The Rain...

You bet it is! You're in good company tkitna.... you might have read about that chance encounter around the mid 70s when Karen Carpenter bumped into another singer coming out of a restaurant....

Thanks, Hello Goodbye!  And you've listed a great selection as well.  I used to read the morning announcements in a school and I always signed off by playing a song selection.  I actually played that song one day and later in the day a 2nd grade student told me that was now his favorite song.  Like what was stated on another thread, "good music is good music".  :)

It's a powerful song.  And David Ruffin was a powerful singer.

On a lighter note...

That 2nd grade student knew good music when he heard it.

She's A Rainbow, The Stones. Post rain, but I'm sure everything would still be wet!
