i have never really gotten into led zepplin or pink floyd, and have always thought they were overrated, but they cant be so many people like them!! so i decided to but some of their stuff, so what albums do you recomend i get first?

led zeppelin- led zep 2 (or 1, but i just like 2 better)
pink floyd- dark side of the moon

ok...i did check out pink floyds 'the wall' and thought it was pretty crap, but im sure its one of those ones that if you give it time it will sink into you, and you will like it!

The Wall is sort of the beginning of the end for them, but it's got SO much that there has to be something you appreciate. It's not one of the first Floyd albums I'd listen to if I hadn't heard the others. Mainly because it's telling a story and it's got a lot of stuff on it that you wouldn't normally find on rock albums. For some reason I appreaciated the Wall more after I saw the movie though. Don't know why. You don't like Comfortably Numb, Mother, Goodybye Blue Sky, Hey You, In the Flesh or Young Lust? Oh well. The Wall is sort of Pink Floyd lite. They even experimented with disco beats for god's sake! I hate the remake that band did of Another Brick part 2. I just heard it on the radio today. Ick. The original is classic. I love it.

Try Dark Side or Wish You Were Here. But I have a feeling you won't like them much either. You've got to like that Pink Floyd sound. Maybe you should try Syd's Floyd? I don't know. They're definitely not for everybody.

the wall crap????ok...i don't think so...maybe some say it's not their best but its not crap...

led zeppelin I & II is good, and physical graffiti is pretty good too IMO...
as for the floyd try DSOTM, it's a great album

Or you could try Echoes. Pink Floyd's 'best of' album. But the songs are kinda taken out of context. I guess it doesn't matter though if you're not that into them. You'll get a good range of Floyd songs though. If you go to this site, you can actually listen to the full songs. Just click on the Echoes button and then each song has it's own little picture to click on. It's very cool. It even explains them a bit.

     Led Zep 2  will give you a great feeling for the band! If you are not into them after listening to this Lp your probably dead from the neck up.

Most people would overrate Zep because of their over the top way of presenting their music! They fought with their record company on #4 because the company thought without their name on the Lp cover no one would buy the LP? Zep wouldn't give them the finished tapes until they agreed to use the Apartment cover! Sold "ONE MILLION" copies first week out! This solidifyed all of Zeps dealings with their record company henceforth!

if you think The Wall is crap, Dark Side is boring, Wish You Were Here makes you skip every song, early Syd floyd is wierd and crap,,,, then theres no point of convincing you!!!!!!

I guess you just dont like them, very brilliant band,, lemme see Led doing an album like Dark Side.......I can see how you might like Zep probably
