Title: Here Comes The Sun
Post by: Kevin on May 27, 2005, 04:45:13 PM
Just listened to this on the radio. I know I've badmouthed Georghe in the past, but what an excellent song. Still sounds so fresh, and the production is awesome (even the handclaps sound good).
Listening to it alongside modern stuff just reminded what genius's they were.
(and it being the hottest (32c) and sunnyest day of the year probably helped. I just realised that)

Easily my favorite Beatles song.

The riffs are superb, the arrangement is simple but couldn't be better, and the overall atmosphere is just so mellow and relaxed.

Yeah George really closed the gap between John and Paul with his songwriting on Abbey Road.

One of George's masterpieces, along with Something and While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

When George worked hard, some of his songs managed to be even better than John&Paul's. Here Comes The Sun is a perfect example :) Great and so fresh-sounding song this is, one of the best in Abbey Road.

A nice quote...

"Ringo's tom fills really make the song, but funnily enough, he hated doing them because he could never remember what he was did one take to the next. I think that's why his fills are so spectacular - he felt that he would never reproduce them, so he'd better get 'em right." -Geoff Emerick on Here Comes The Sun

Yes! Great pic! And thank you!!! Look, they are listening carefully to us, saying, "What are you discussing out there, the Beatles? Wow! We`ll take notes, definitely!"

It is indeed a very awesome song. I have to agree that George really did a great job writing that song. They will always be remembered generations after generations, as this has always been their legacy. But it is such a shame that they are human too, otherwise they will continue to entertain us for years to come. How I wished that someone could have gotten all their talents, or just simply gives us the Beatles feel. But still I would not like to see someone replacing them, so might as well leave it as it is.

'Here Comes the Sun' is such an amazing song -- George REALLY made me a believer of me with this song.

It really seems in my opinion to be one of the most universally liked songs. With mainstream listeners and the hardcore fans.
I absolutely love it.

That's a great video clip! The guitar solo in the "Sun Sun Sun" section is fantastic. Wish it had made it to the final version.

George Martin acts as if he doesn't realize what's going on.

I don't know why but my favorite part has always been the guitar part at the very end of the song. It's just really beautiful in my opinion and it's the perfect ending.

It's a lovely song and it always makes me smile. I've heard a Finnish version (yes, sung in Finnish :D)  of it and it's good as well. The singer is a huge George fan, I've met him a couple of times but that's nearly 20 years ago :D

The Beatles ‘Here Comes The Sun’: Lost Solo Discovered

Here comes the Son.Dhani Harrison, the son of George (the late and great Beatles guitarist) visited Abbey Road studio with long-time Beatles producer George Martin and his son, Giles  to discover something sacred. Deep in the master tracks of “Here Comes The Sun” from 1969′s Abbey Road, Dhani stumbles upon a lost solo from his father’s ballad. It completely changes the texture of the song, not to mention how freakin’ cool it is.It’s chilling, but doesn’t compare to the moment when George Martin turns to Dhani and says, “You’re like your father.

George Harrison's lost guitar solo on "Here Comes The Sun"

In this video we see Sir George Martin, Giles Martin (his son), and Dhani Harrison listening to the mix of "Here Comes The Sun".

Suddenly Dhani opens the channel with the "lost solo guitar".  And now, with the master track in the background, you can hear how it sounds in music.

Three months ago discovered and posted in here. But I don't blame peregrine9 and/or Paulrus. Obviously the media just picked this up.
